From Tuesday, 1st July 2025, Market Cross Surgery will be moving to a new total triage system via SystmOnline on our website as the main way to access our services.

This means that all patients will need to submit an online consultation request.

This allows us to prioritise care based on clinical need and ensures that you are directed to the most appropriate service or healthcare professional.

If you are unable to access the internet or need support completing the online form, please contact our reception team who will be happy to assist you.

Nurse appointments can still be booked by telephone.

The form is brief and easy to use, but the more information you can provide, the easier it will be for us to help you. Forms with insufficient information will be replied to with a request to provide further information.

Prescriptions can still be ordered via the NHS app or SystmOnline.

**ONLINE SERVICES - MEDICAL AND ADMIN REQUESTS**

We will shortly be moving to a new total triage system via SystmOnline on our website as the main way to access our services.

This will give patients improved access to the help they need in a timely manner without having to contact us multiple times and take less time than making a phone call.

It will also allow the surgery to manage our resources and the growing demand in the most effective manner by directing patients to the most appropriate clinician; this could be a GP, Triage Clinician, Pharmacist or Admin Staff.

If you haven’t signed up to receive messages via SMS, please do so as this means we can contact patients promptly about appointments, results and other issues.

IMPORTANT CHANGE REGARDING HOSPITAL REQUESTED BLOOD TEST APPOINTMENTS
Currently many patients attend Market Cross Surgery for blood tests requested by hospital specialists. These tests allow your specialist to monitor your condition and ensure you receive the best possible care.
Unfortunately, Market Cross Surgery is not funded to perform hospital blood tests, and we are not contractually responsible for carrying out these tests. Therefore, we will no longer able to provide this service for our patients with immediate effect.
Indeed, we are underfunded for the blood test service we currently provide for our patients.
If your hospital blood test is part of a “Shared Care Agreement” between your specialist and your GP (usually for rheumatology medication), then we will be able to continue performing your blood tests.
We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, however due to the increasing demand for GP services and ongoing NHS funding challenges, GP practices across the country, including ours, are having to make difficult decisions.
Hospital requested blood tests can be performed at either Grantham Hospital or Stamford Hospital.
For any blood tests requested by your GP, we ask that you continue to book and attend any blood test appointments in the usual way.

**URGENT MESSAGE REGARDING DISPENSARY - FRIDAY 2ND MAY**

DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, WE HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO CLOSE THE DISPENSARY FROM 2.30pm TODAY.

WE APOLOGISE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY CAUSE AND WOULD ASK THAT YOU ONLY COLLECT YOUR MEDICATION TODAY IF THERE IS AN URGENT NEED FOR THIS.

OTHERWISE, WE WOULD ASK YOU TO CALL BACK ON TUESDAY 6th MAY. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION PLEASE SPEAK TO RECEPTION.

Market Cross Surgery will be running an urgent only surgery on Tuesday, 25th February 2025 from 1.30pm to 4.00 pm for Staff Training. The This includes dispensary which will still close at 12.30pm. Please collect any prescriptions before 12.30pm or after 4.00pm. Thank you for your understanding and apologies for any inconvenience.

Like many people across the county, our staff are struggling to get into work due to the inclement weather which has caused flooding. Please bear with us as we are working on a skeleton staff and may not be able to answer the phone in a timely manner, and your appointment may have to be moved to a different clinician. Market Cross Surgery will be open for immediate emergencies ONLY this Friday (22nd November), between 12:30 and 14:00.

The dispensary will also be closed during this time.

Normal service will resume after 14:00.
