❄How to Maintain a Wood‑Fired Hot Tub in Freezing Temperatures ❄
🔥 1. Never let the water freeze! Water expands when frozen.

If you plan to use the tub regularly:
Keep it filled and fire it up every 1–3 days to maintain above‑freezing temperatures.
If you won’t use it for a while:
Drain it completely.

💧 2. Drain the tub if you won’t use it for several days
If temperatures will stay below freezing and you’re not planning a soak:
• Drain the tub fully.
• Tilt any external pipes so they empty completely.
• Open all valves so no water is trapped.

🧼 3. Use a thermal cover.
A thick, insulated cover:
• Reduces heat loss dramatically.
• Prevents ice forming on the surface.
• Keeps debris out.
This is one of the best winter upgrades you can make.

🧯 4. Never fire the stove when the tub is empty
This can warp or crack the heater or even cause the fire.
Always confirm the water level is above the the top fl**ge before lighting.
