BWY Yoga Teaching Diploma 2021

BWY Yoga Teaching Diploma 2021 BWYQ level 4 Yoga Teaching Diploma Course. This course is over 32 months enabling you to study yoga For information please contact Dawn at atamjeetyoga@gmail.com

The 2021 course starts with an introductory day on 20 March 2021 with the induction day and the course starting 17 April 2021. These dates may change due to Covid however the course can be partly run on line so it may be that we start on line with later dates face to face. The course is held one Saturday per month over 32 months with a residential weekend in the first year. You can usually begin teaching within the first year of the course enabling you to earn while you learn as well as gaining experience as a teacher as you are being supported in a training environment. Course content includes an in depth look at asana from a physical and energetic perspective, modifications and vulnerable areas, basic breathing and relaxation, professional aspects of yoga teaching, history of yoga, pranayama, mudras, bandhas and yoga philosophy. Entry requirements are at least two years experience of yoga attending regular classes (a reference will be required from your tutor). You will also need to complete the on line BWY Anatomy module or already hold a minimum level 3 Anatomy and Physiology qualification. This will give you a basic background in anatomy so the face to face time with me can be focussed on applying the anatomy to yoga practice. You will also be required to be a student member of the BWY and continue to attend your weekly classes and attend workshops to deepen your personal practice. Preference will be given to students who have completed the foundation course however this is not essential to apply.

For members of the BWy only: To all BWY members with regard to the AGM and in particular the proposed New Articles that the BWY NEC wish the membership adopt prior to AGM. I wrote to the BWY and it has been confirmed the following information. There are two additions to the Articles that the membership were requested to ratify in April and July 2021, these can be found the Notes to the Notice for the AGM, which can be found under the ‘reports’ section on the BWY website. The New Articles have to be voted in their entirety rather than separate resolutions. If the membership decide not to accept the proposed New M & As, the current articles will remain as governing documents. Please note it is not necessary for the membership to adopt the New Articles in order to have an AGM

I recommend that the proposed M&AA are rejected as it would allow trustees to borrow money without any personal liability should they leave i.e. they could take on debt and leave which would then be the responsibility of the incoming trustees. (There are a number of other reasons, not just this one but as we can't approve changes individually we would have to accept this change too).

You can now give your proxy vote to Katherine Nicholson. Please note the proposed M&AA would allow trustees to borrow and if they leave the debt becomes the responsibility of the incoming/remaining trustees. Also, consider carefully why 5 trustees and 3 staff have resigned and who is available for re-election. Please don't not vote or abstain, only NO counts.
