If you have been to the practice in January/February you may have noticed we have been having some work done. As you know we have an old building that was built to be a home and not a GP surgery so this comes with some challenges. Room 17 had looked like the room that time forgot. This has been totally stripped out and refurbished. Dr Hashlamon one of our salaried GPs sees patients from here now. Taking advantage of his move from Room 5, Rebecca our fantastic Advanced Nurse Practitioner, has moved too. Room 5 has also been given a lick of paint in advance of her moving in.

At our GP practice, we recognise that veterans may face unique mental health challenges as a result of their service. Conditions such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can affect veterans long after they leave the Armed Forces, and timely, appropriate support is essential.
We are committed to providing a safe, respectful environment where veterans feel comfortable discussing their mental health and seeking help. Support may include access to NHS mental health services, referrals to specialist care, and signposting to veteran-specific support organisations.
Accessing the right support
If you are a veteran, please ensure you let us know so your records are updated accordingly. This allows us to ensure you are identified correctly and can be supported with priority access to appropriate NHS services where applicable. Further information about services available to support veterans is available in this booklet:

Urgent mental health support
If you need urgent mental health help, you can contact the NHS urgent mental health helpline by calling NHS 111 and selecting option 2. This service is available 24 hours a day.
If you are in immediate danger or feel unable to keep yourself safe, please call 999 or attend your nearest A&E department.
You can also contact Samaritans free on 116 123, available 24/7 for confidential emotional support.
Looking after mental health is just as important as physical health. No one who has served should feel they have to cope alone.

❀πŸ”₯β€Ό Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Campaign

Heartburn UK are launching a targeted outreach campaign to increase public awareness of persistent heartburn and its links to Barrett’s Oesophagus and, potentially, Oesophageal cancer. The campaign aims to support prevention, encourage timely help seeking, and promote early diagnosis of Oesophageal Cancer.

This work aligns with the national ambition for 75% of cancers to be diagnosed at stage 1 or 2 by 2028, and supports the Early Diagnosis Cancer DES in Primary Care. Upper GI cancer is currently the third most significant cancer locally due to the high number of late-stage diagnoses.

Campaign Details:
β€’ Campaign period: 23 February 2026 – 3 April 2026
β€’ Location: Lincolnshire
β€’ Target population: General population, with a focus on higher risk groups

Priority Demographics:
β€’ Men aged 40–69
β€’ Individuals with a high BMI
β€’ People with a history of smoking and/or alcohol use
