✨Introducing Facial Cupping ✨
Using cupping on the body to treat disease, remove stagnation and improve the flow of energy in the body has been documented as far back as 3000 years in Chinese, Middle Eastern, Egyptian and Greek practices. More recently facial cupping has gained popularity as an holistic skincare technique.
This gentle, yet powerful, therapy is non invasive and designed to promote circulation, stimulating blood flow and creating a radiant glow. Combined with knowledge and understanding of the lymphatic pathways it can clear stagnation and promote lymph flow, reducing puffiness, detoxifying and skin and reducing inflammation. The light suction of the cups can trigger fibroblasts within the cells, promoting collagen and elastin production which are key in keeping our skin youthful, plump, firm and either slowing the development of, or reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time. As well as this, this method can reduce tension deep in the facial muscles which can cause pain, discomfort, sinus pressure, deep stress lines and even conditions like TMJ.
🙋🏼♀️ I’ve been using cups on my own face, neck and décolletage for a few years and over the summer I completed some training to enable me to use this technique with my clients. Personally, I love the lifting, plumping and invigorating effect the cups have on my skin, as well as sculpting a sharper jawline and maximising lip volume. Over time, increasing the circulation, bringing oxygen and other nutrients to the surface of the skin is hugely beneficial to skin health - keeping it rejuvenated, youthful, healthy and glowing.
If you’re already a regular client of mine, you may already be enjoying some cupping as part of your holistic facials. Many of you have noticed an immediate plumping effect and have enjoyed learning how to use them at home in order to maximise the benefits over time. If you’d like to know more about facial cupping and how it could benefit you, drop me a message to secure an appointment now 🤗🙏🏼
Please note there are some skin types not well suited to this technique and it’s not recommended for those on blood thinning medication, those with very fine/thin/fragile skin or those with broken capillaries and severe rosacea.
