🔍 Behind the Scenes at Sidas: Sharpening Our Orthotics Skills
This Thursday Lucia and I had the pleasure of visiting Sidas UK in Kendal - our trusted supplier for custom orthotics. We’ve proudly used the Sidas in-house orthotics system for over 10 years, and it was fantastic to see how far the technology and materials have evolved since we created our very first pair!
We were guided by Tom, our knowledgeable mentor for the day, who showed us around the newly opened Sidas Lab and shared the latest advances in orthotic design. Although we continue to manufacture our orthotics in-house, we gained valuable insights into:
- Improving fit and comfort
- Enhancing durability and performance
- Using additional postings like heel wedges
- Managing more complex foot conditions with custom densities and materials
For those who don’t know:
👉 Custom orthotics are medical-grade insoles that are tailored specifically to your feet. They help correct alignment, redistribute pressure, and relieve pain caused by conditions such as plantar fasciitis, arthritis, bunions, or foot deformities.
We had a great time learning, refining our techniques, and we’re excited to bring this updated knowledge back to the clinic to help even more people live pain-free and stay active!
