The first photo is from last year at some point, a steady 96kg and rising heading into Christmas. 😆
I actually didn't really mind how I looked, but the numbers were slowly consistency rising and without being able to gym as much and the lack of jiu-jitsu I knew if it was to continue this way it would become a slippery slope.
It's not that being a Dad is the issue because, let's be honest, my little one is in bed 7:30pm/8pm. Does being a parent come with challenges, of course, BUT if I really wanted to go to the gym, I had time, I was just in a bit of a funk and quite honestly, I couldn't be arsed 🤣
I have been a gym goer (if you want to call it that) for 17 years! 17! I go through these cycles of not really wanting to be in the gym. Which is why finding a sport you love is important.
So I needed a challenge to get me going, I decided to stop drinking. The challenge was to do dry January and keep going for as long as possible.
The 2nd photo is 1st June, 5 months sober and roughly 1 or 2 sessions in the gym a week, if that. A lot of this was done through diet. I was 84kg, 12kg (1 stone 12 lbs or 26 lbs) lighter than I was previously.
Diet really is key when it comes to fat loss. You don't have to spend your life in the gym if you don't want to. Just a couple of hours a week.
The 3rd photo im sitting at 88kg, after a very busy summer, weddings, football, BBQs, nights out, the big 30th, lots of food and booze. I am currently 88kg and looking forward to shifting the summer weight come September 😅
