Christmas can be tough, can't it? For some, it sparkles with joy and togetherness. For others, it can feel overwhelming, lonely, or quietly painful - and often, it’s all of that at once. As the day approaches, expectations grow, family dynamics get complicated, and feelings of loss or grief can feel heavier than ever.

In episode two of this Mental Health series, Kavya, Melissa, and Leah from South Lincolnshire Rural Primary Care Network speak honestly about what Christmas really feels like, and how to cope when it’s not all festive cheer.

Together they share:
• Getting through (and even enjoying) a challenging family Christmas
• Managing if you’re spending Christmas on your own
• Navigating bereavement during the festive period

Whether you’re excited, dreading it, or somewhere in between, this episode is a reminder: you’re not alone - and it’s okay to do Christmas your own way.

Alison and I had a great day at Shines Illuminate event today, where we heard some fabulous stories about the power of people and communities. We were so encouraged to see and hear how Our Shared Agreement and Personalisation is at the heart of everything they do.
Even Linda made an appearance and got into the Christmas spirit. 🎉🎄🎅🏻

It was a lovely meeting with Karen Dunderdale, Group CEO at Lincolnshire Community & Hospitals NHS Group, during her visit to Beech House today.

Our Personalisation Team had a great catch-up with Karen, sharing updates and discussing in depth the work we do to support personalised care across Lincolnshire.

A productive and insightful visit — thank you, Karen , for your time and continued support. 🙌

Something unexpected appeared on a sunny November morning in Lincoln: a full living room - sofas, armchairs, cushions, side tables, and games - right on Sincil Street. It wasn’t a stunt - it was an invitation.

Created with Maff Potts and his amazing movement www.camerados.org, this pop-up “public living room” marks another landmark in a big shift towards new ways of listening in Lincolnshire’s health and care system.

People stopped, talked, shared stories, and confirmed to us how powerful real conversation – and real connection - can be.

This spark is growing into a wider movement of community reporters, community listeners, storytellers, and changemakers. Want to know what’s been happening and where it’s heading next?

Today is Carers Rights Day, with the theme “Know your rights, use your rights.” Every day, around 12,000 people become unpaid carers for a partner, family member, or friend — often without realising they have legal rights or access to support.

In Lincolnshire alone, more than 70,000 people provide unpaid care, including young carers, parent carers, and those balancing caring with work and family life.

Caring can affect wellbeing, finances, employment, and relationships. No one should miss out on help designed to ease those pressures. Every carer deserves to understand their rights and feel supported to use them.

JOIN OUR NEXT PERSONALISATION HUDDLE - From Pathway to Person: Personalising Frailty with Local Communities and Neighbourhoods

Come and be part of an inspiring conversation about how personalised, strengths-based approaches are transforming care for frail people across Lincolnshire.

You’ll hear from three fantastic neighbourhoods:
• South Lincolnshire and Rural PCN – sharing how months of collaboration and learning are helping them lay the groundwork for change.
• K2 PCN – working closely with people who have complex needs and the Frailty Virtual Wards to focus on what really matters.
• South Lincoln – one of the early trailblazers, fully embracing personalised, strengths-based practice in action.

Each team will bring their own insights, challenges, and learning – and they want to hear from you too. What’s happening in your area? How are you involved? What could others learn from your experience?

This event takes place on Thursday 27 November 2025, 9.30 am – 11 AM via Microsoft Teams.

It’s Occupational Therapy Week! (3–9 November 2025)

To celebrate, our Alison chats with Occupational Therapists (OTs) Zoe and Laura, and Denis, an expert by experience with an incredible story of recovery.

After 15 months in a hospital bed, Denis can now walk into his kitchen and back again, thanks to his determination and the creativity, trust, and teamwork of his OT team.
