💜 Thank you so much for the overwhelming messages and lovely comments following my previous post. The support and encouragement has genuinely meant a great deal.

It’s back to the office today after a very proud milestone this week, receiving my diploma in funeral directing after many years of study, coursework and continued professional development.

As a fifth-generation funeral director at John Ross Funeral Services Ltd., I strongly believe in maintaining the highest standards of care and professionalism for the families who place their trust in us. While experience passed down through generations is invaluable, I also believe it is important to continue learning and developing throughout our careers.

Juggling work, study and a busy family life has certainly been challenging at times, so I would like to sincerely thank the college tutors, along with my family, friends and colleagues, for all of their support and encouragement over the years. It has meant a great deal.

Now it’s back to doing what I care most about which is supporting the families and communities we are privileged to serve. 💜

💜 Today I had the honour of collecting my Diploma in Funeral Directing through the Independent Funeral Directors College in Luton, recognised as the highest possible qualification within our profession.

Education, training and maintaining the very highest standards within funeral services should always remain at the forefront of our profession and I am incredibly proud to have achieved this milestone as a fifth-generation funeral director.

Following the awards ceremony and lunch, it was wonderful to spend time alongside some of the very best in the industry, people who continue to raise standards in funeral service with compassion, professionalism and care.

As a woman in funeral directing, it is also a proud reminder of how our profession continues to evolve whilst maintaining the values at its heart.

And finally… this one is for you Dad 💜 x

Today is 🌍 Earth Day

Looking after families has always been at the heart of what we do, but so too is looking after the world around us.

As a fifth-generation family business, we’re always mindful that what we do today has an impact on those who come after us. More and more, families are thinking about the kind of legacy they leave behind and we feel it’s important to be able to support those quieter, more natural choices where we can.

Whether that’s offering environmentally conscious options or simply being thoughtful in the way we work day to day, it’s something we care deeply about.

Our hybrid vehicles are just one small step, but every step matters.

If you’d ever like to have a chat about more natural or environmentally conscious options, we’re always here.
