Good news for local care provision in Strathspey - plans for a major extension to Lynemore Care Home are now approved. The £1.8 million project will include 12 en-suite bedrooms, a new dining area with a covered outdoor terrace, a quiet space for residents, accessible bathrooms and shower facilities, and a staff room. Work is set to begin in September, with completion expected by summer 2027. We’ll ensure minimal disruption for our residents throughout the build.

Ron Taylor, Managing Director of Parklands Care Homes, says: "This extension will allow us to provide more residents with the high-quality care they need."

A wartime codebreaker from Bletchley Park living in Grantown has received a moving letter of thanks from a teen in Denmark who discovered her WWII service on social media.

✉️ A delightful surprise message for Lynemore resident Dr Jean Munro ...

🇩🇰 After reading about Jean’s wartime service as a codebreaker at Bletchley Park, 16 year old Jonathan from Zealand, Denmark, felt moved to write to her. In a heartfelt letter, he shared his gratitude and assured her that younger generations have not forgotten the courage and sacrifice of those who served. 🕊️

Needless to say, Jean was deeply touched to receive Jonathan's letter. 💙

Two new faces at Lynemore - with a world of experience behind them. 🇿🇦 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Janet and Kirsten have travelled far before choosing Speyside as home, bringing backgrounds from South Africa, the armed forces community and roles across the UK and beyond into their work supporting residents in Grantown.

From organising activities and encouraging hobbies to quiet chats, walks or reminiscing, their focus is simple: moments of connection and joy.

As Kirsten says: "I love to see the smiles on residents' faces when an activity has made them laugh or given them joy."
