🚨🥓 Blue Light Breakfast Drop-Offs – A Small Thank You with a Big Heart 🥓🚨

This month we were delighted to continue our Blue Light breakfast drop-offs, and this time surprising our wonderful ambulance crew with hot breakfast baps and a few extra goodies to start their busy day.

Last month, we had the pleasure of visiting the fire department too, and it’s quickly become one of our favourite little traditions.

The dedication, resilience, and compassion shown by our fellow Blue Light colleagues never fails to amaze us. The work they do day in, day out for our community truly does not go unnoticed, and we’re honoured to show our appreciation in any way we can – even if it’s just a small gesture.

And let’s be honest… who doesn’t love a good old sausage or bacon bap to keep you going? 😊

💖 A Moment We Will Never Forget 💖

On 23rd August 2025, one of our residents, Jean, received the most beautiful and emotional surprise.

As Jean was unable to attend her granddaughter’s wedding, her granddaughter and new husband made a very special detour on their way to the reception to visit her here at The Withens.

The look of shock, joy, and pure happiness on Jean’s face was unforgettable — there wasn’t a dry eye in the room as she was surprised by the newlyweds in all their wedding-day glory. 💐

We are incredibly grateful to Jean’s family for allowing us to share these precious photos with our extended Withens family.

Moments like these truly remind us that we are more than a care home — we are family.

🎄✨ Christmas Celebrations at The Withens ✨🎄

Residents and staff at The Withens enjoyed a truly fabulous Christmas party and heart-warming Christmas Day celebrations, filled with laughter, joy, and togetherness.

Surrounded by family and friends, the home was alive with festive cheer as we danced the evening away with our DJ, enjoyed lots of delicious food, face painting fun, and even welcomed a cheeky little Elf who popped in to spread some extra magic!

From festive parties to presents under the tree, from mince pies and cheese boards to a traditional Christmas dinner, every moment was enjoyed and cherished by all. The smiles, laughter, and warmth shared over the celebrations really captured what Christmas at The Withens is all about.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make our residents and staff Christmas party so special. You are all a valued part of our Withens extended family ❤️🎅✨

🎄✨ Christmas Cheer at Withens Nursing Home ✨🎄

We were absolutely delighted to welcome the wonderful children from Sedley School to Withens Nursing Home this week, who came to sing beautiful Christmas carols for our residents and their families.

Their voices filled the home with festive cheer and truly captured the magic of Christmas. The residents were smiling from ear to ear, singing along, clapping, and thoroughly enjoying every moment. It was incredibly heart-warming to see the joy on everyone’s faces as the children performed so confidently and kindly.

Intergenerational visits like these mean so much to our residents, and this visit was no exception — it brought back cherished memories and created some very special new ones. A huge thank you to the children and staff at Sedley School for sharing your time, talent, and Christmas spirit with us.

Moments like these remind us what the season is all about ❤️🎶✨

🌟 Southfleet Superheroes – November Winners! 🌟

We are thrilled to announce that our November Southfleet Heroes are the incredible St Nicholas Church Gardening Team! 🌿💚

It was an absolute pleasure to surprise them with their well-deserved gift baskets, filled with gardening goodies, refreshments, and a gift voucher to spend however they wish. Their reaction was priceless — so much joy, gratitude and genuine surprise!

We also received a lovely message from Lee Coppitters, who shared:
“All the members of St Nicholas Church Gardening Team and I would like to thank everyone who voted for us in the Southfleet Superhero nominations this month. We are delighted that our weekly efforts in the church grounds are so appreciated by everyone. The work not only brings us a great deal of satisfaction but it is wonderful to know how much it benefits the wider community. We are delighted with our prize which will be very useful in assisting us with our work.”

💛 A Special Little Visitor at Withens! 💛

Yesterday we were treated to the sweetest surprise—our wonderful nurse Wanda brought in her handsome little grandson for a visit! Our residents absolutely adored him and were thrilled to have some cuddles and giggles throughout the day.

He brought smiles to everyone’s faces, and our tiny guest seemed to enjoy every single second of the attention. Moments like these truly brighten the home and remind us how special intergenerational connections can be. 🥰👶✨
