Withens Nursing Home is a carefully designed care home that supports residents to live happy, fulfilled and comfortable lives.

Withens Nursing Home is situated in a pleasant rural location. We provide person centred and meaningful Nursing and End of Life Care in a vibrant, engaging and resident led community. Our established Nursing and Care teams are dedicated to ensuring the highest standard of care, where respect, dignity and choice are at it's centre. Located over two floors, our home includes a light and airy lounge and dining room, as well as a beautiful conservatory overlooking the gardens. Spacious bedrooms, and a variety of communal spaces such as a quiet room and hair salon. Our landscaped gardens are wheelchair accessible and designed to be a welcoming place for people to relax. We are a home from home where family is at the heart of everything we do.

✨ Diwali Celebrations at Withens Nursing Home ✨

Last weekend we celebrated the Festival of Lights in true style at Withens Nursing Home! 💫
Our residents, families, and staff enjoyed a magical day filled with colour, culture, and joy — from a vibrant dressing-up station with traditional Indian outfits, to rangoli patterns, diya decorating, henna art, and even tarot card readings that everyone loved!

Of course, no celebration would be complete without delicious food — we indulged in a wonderful variety of Indian snacks, curries, and sweets, surrounded by beautiful decorations that brought Diwali to life.

🪔 Spices Indian Grocery Store (Peacock Street, Gravesend) — for generously donating decorations, diyas, candles, and treats.
🍬 Barfia Gravesend (Wellington Street) — for the stunning box of traditional Indian sweets that everyone adored.
🔮 Theresa Janday from love Authentic Me — for the magical tarot readings that were such a hit!

We’re so grateful to our amazing residents, families, and staff for making the day so special. The home was full of smiles, laughter, and light — a true Diwali to remember! 🪔❤️

✨ Diwali Spirit at Withens Nursing Home ✨

As we prepare for our Diwali Party this Saturday, 25th October, some of our team went into Gravesend this week for a little inspiration (and shopping!) — but what we didn’t expect was the incredible kindness we’d encounter.

A huge heartfelt thank you to the wonderful owner of Spices Indian Grocery Store on Peacock Street who, upon hearing about our residents and our celebration, generously gifted us Diwali lamps and other goodies — and even asked what more he could do to help. 💛

Mr Sharma, your generosity truly touched our hearts and brought the spirit of Diwali — light, love, and community — to life. 🌟

From everyone at Withens Nursing Home, thank you for your kindness and for helping us make this celebration extra special for our residents. 🙏🪔✨

We look forward to seeing everyone this Saturday 25th October from 1pm to 6pm at the Withens to celebrate diwali with us.

📖✨ Spiritual Comfort at Withens Nursing Home ✨📖
Today, our lovely vicar visited Withens Nursing Home to lead a Bible reading and offer Holy Communion to those who wished to take part. Residents and families joined together in hymn singing, creating a peaceful and uplifting atmosphere that brought great comfort to many 💖

The vicar will return on Wednesday 12th November at 11am for our Remembrance Day Service — everyone is warmly welcome to join us. 🌹

🧀🍷 Cheese, Wine & Quiz Time at Withens! 🍷🧀

Last Friday, our residents at Withens Nursing Home enjoyed a delightful afternoon filled with laughter, friendly competition, and lots of cheesy goodness at our Cheese & Wine Quiz Afternoon! 🥂📚

The room was buzzing with smiles and chatter as everyone got involved — sampling a variety of cheeses, sipping wine, and putting their thinking caps on for some fun quiz rounds. It was a truly joyful and engaging afternoon for all.

Thank you to our wonderful team for organising such a lovely event. Moments like these are what make Withens feel like home 💜

Every month, we’ll be recognising and celebrating a local hero who goes above and beyond for our community.

Each winner will receive a Gift Voucher and be crowned our Southfleet Superhero of the Month!

📩 Nominations open on the 1st of every month via email, and the winner will be announced on the last Friday of the month.

This month in celebration of Emergency Services Day, we proudly introduced the Blue Light Brunch Drop Off – a new monthly tradition to show our appreciation to the amazing local emergency services.

To kick things off, Gurpreet and Chef, Gareth made a special delivery to Gravesend Police Station, bringing along hampers filled with hot breakfast rolls, freshly baked pastries, and fruit juices. 🥐☕🥓

The team at the station were so grateful, with their Sergeant even emailing us personally to say thank you – a true reminder of the power of giving back. 💙

The Blue Light Brunch Drop Off will now take place on the third Friday of every month, giving us a regular opportunity to show our gratitude and spread a little joy to our local heroes. ✨

🌞🌻Heres to Our Unforgettable Summer Garden Party! 🥳🎉

We enjoyed delicious food, great company and amazing animals.🍔💃🐴

A massive thank you to the staff, families and friends who came and supported.. it was a brilliant day!!

Our petting zoo from Ark Farm Encounters were the highlight by far - so interactive. Fern the handler was so knowledgeable and interesting! We are already talking about when we can have them back.

🍰✨ Our Great Friends Sue and Sooty brought home a delicious homemade pavlova, proving that sweet moments are made with love 🍰✨

Not only do they bring smiles to our faces, they also bring amazing treats to them. There wasn't a crumb left! 😋🧁
