We practice regularly to ensure we are able to work effectively in a life threatening situation.

Our fantastic volunteers put their dedication into action yesterday at Horndon on the Hill Feast and Fayre, managing a rather complex incident in conjunction with Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust and Essex Police.

Thank you to the members of public who supported our work in a difficult situation.

Yesterday, Alan and Ash were at a community fundraising event, supporting Lura and her incredible story of calling 999 and staying calm when her brother suffered a febrile convulsion.

Meanwhile, other volunteers assisted in Horndon on the Hill Feast and Fayre and we return today to support their 10km run and the rest of the great day!

Our Story

St John Ambulance is the nation’s leading first aid charity. Every year, more than 400,000 people learn how to save a life through our training programmes, including hundreds of thousands of young people. First aid is such a simple skill, but it has an incredible impact. We want everyone to learn it, so that they can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
