Thinking about Swift treatment for verrucae? Here are some of the questions we get asked most:

Does it hurt?
You may feel a short, sharp sensation during treatment, but it lasts just a few seconds and is very well tolerated.

How many treatments will I need?
Most patients need a course of treatments, usually spaced a few weeks apart. We’ll advise what’s best for you.

Can I walk afterwards?
Yes! You can carry on with your normal daily activities straight away.

Is there anything to do at home?
No acids, no dressings, no fuss. Swift doesn’t require ongoing home treatment.

How is it different to other treatments?
Swift works by stimulating your immune system to help your body fight the virus causing the verruca.

If you’ve got a stubborn verruca that won’t go away, Swift could be a great option.

Got new walking boots ready for spring walks? Be sure to look after your feet...

Don’t head straight out for a long walk. New boots should be broken in gradually to avoid blisters, pressure points and sore arches.

It's a good idea to:

• Wear them around the house first
• Start with short walks
• Choose good walking socks
• Check for rubbing early

If you notice persistent foot pain or recurring blisters, it may be a sign your footwear isn’t supporting your feet properly. That's where we come in!

Happy walking from Bookham Podiatry 👣👣👣

Actually, the opposite can be true.

Hard skin can form because of pressure and friction, and aggressively scrubbing or filing it can sometimes make the skin respond by becoming even thicker.

Over-scrubbing can also:
• cause soreness
• create cracks in the skin
• increase the risk of infection

The safest way to manage hard skin is gentle care and addressing the cause, whether that’s footwear, pressure points, or gait.

If hard skin keeps coming back, it may be worth having it professionally treated. That's where we come in!

At Bookham Podiatry, we can safely remove hard skin and help prevent it returning.

Are your toenails causing you discomfort?

An ingrown toenail is when the edge of a toenail grows into the surrounding skin, causing pain, swelling, and redness. It most commonly affects the big toe and can be caused by improper nail trimming, tight footwear, or injury.

Self-care measures like soaking the foot in warm, soapy water can help, but a severe infection may require medical treatment or minor surgery.

If you are struggling with nail pain and can't seem to get relief, book an appointment with us so we can help you trim them properly.

Call us on 01372 454583 - we are open 6 days a week.

This in turn leads to small nicks, cracks or other issues. If you have diabetes, even small cracks can become serious.

Take care to check your feet daily and if you have any issues, we are here to help.

Our team are available 6 days a week. Call 01372 454583 for appointments.

This can in turn lead to foot pain and complications. Whether it's blisters, aches or niggles, Spring is a great time to have your feet checked over by a podiatrist. Luckily for you, we have a great team of experts ready to help you move pain free.

Call us on 01372 454583 for appointments.

Foot care is essential for people living with diabetes.

Diabetics can expect healthcare professionals to see them regularly throughout the year, ideally as part of a multidisciplinary foot care team.

However, if you are at increased risk of an ulcer, these inspections may be more frequent and carried out by a podiatrist.

If you are experiencing any new or different symptoms in your feet, especially with swelling, pins and needles or tingling, then it's a good idea to book an appointment with a podiatrist early.

We are located in Fetcham and open 6 days a week - just call us on 01372 454583 for an appointment.

The sun has made an appearance which tends to mean a busy time of year for Spring foot injuries!

Be sure to pay attention to the feet as well as the gardens. Wear closed shoes when mowing, and be careful for thorns and splinters.

If you are diabetic, make sure you pay particular attention to your feet after gardening, check for any nicks and cuts you may have missed.

However, if things do go wrong, you can call us on 01372 454583 for appointments.
