Supporting our children
It is Children’s Mental Health Week (1 – 7 February) and we wanted to share some resources to help you support the children in your life – whether you are a parent, carer, grandparent, teacher, group leader or simply know somebody with children that might be struggling through these challenging times.
We have listed some great resources in the comments and you can draw on your yoga practice too. Taking a few minutes to simply be present with a child or helping them to bring awareness to their own breath can create a much needed moment’s pause.
It is vitally important that in caring for others, we look after ourselves too – it is all too easy to put ourselves last and the age-old saying holds true: you cannot pour from an empty cup.
The theme for this year is ‘Express Yourself’ and as part of this, we wanted to share an online assembly put together by Place2Be, BAFTA Kids and Oak National Academy. With quite a few famous faces it encourages children (ages 4 - 11) to look after their mental health by expressing themselves.
