There will never be a “perfect” time to prioritise your pelvic health — work, grandchildren, childcare, busy schedules, and lack of motivation can all get in the way. But the reality is that symptoms rarely improve on their own. So why continue suffering when you could already be on the road to recovery and feeling more confident in your body?

Our pelvic organs are supported by many muscles , those inside our pelvis and those outside of the pelvis. They need to be dynamic and responsive to cope with all that life throws at you.

Pelvic Health problems are never just caused by one issue.
They are a combination of factors including, diet, fluid intake, birth history, genetics, exercise habits and much more.
For many women the problem is not a 'weak' pelvic floor, so sitting on a chair that does pelvic floor' contractions' for you is an incorrect and ineffective treatment that can make your symptoms worse and not better!
Pelvic floor chairs are often marketed in beauty clinics rather than medical settings, and many women are spending large amounts of money on treatments that are not a substitute for proper pelvic health assessment and rehabilitation. Pelvic floor dysfunction is a complex women’s health issue that deserves individualised care, education, and evidence-based treatment — not a quick fix or marketing promise.

A thorough assessment by a qualified pelvic health physiotherapist can identify the real cause of symptoms and provide treatment tailored to your body, goals, and lifestyle.

Breaking a bone in a fall can be a real shock. Alongside the pain and physical limitations, it can also affect your confidence. Rehabilitation is not only about restoring strength and movement to the injured area, but also about rebuilding balance, confidence, and trust in your body so you can return safely to the activities you enjoy.

Having a 'Mummy MOT®️' often crops up during pregnancy and the post natal period. Its a good option but not the only option.

Women of Dunmow, I offer..

'Beyond Birth , the Postnatal Pathway'🤰➡️🏋️🙂

A detailed post natal assessment providing a comprehensive check, of your abdominal muscles, pelvic floor, changes in posture, back and hip pain, as well as addressing any concerns arising from the birth of your baby.

Some women find they develop aches and pains from feeding and carrying their baby and toddlers. Advice is available to find alternative feeding positions and carrying styles.

This is for all mums whether you have a newborn or your child just started school.

I first saw Karen 6 months post C-section with various post pregnancy/childbirth issues and she has been brilliant. She's very knowledgeable and understanding of the challenges we face after pregnancy and labour (both physically and mentally) and has really helped with my recovery. Highly recommend!

Sneezing can cause bladder leaks because of a sudden spike in pressure inside your abdomen—this is closely related to a condition called stress urinary incontinence. So what’s going on: When you sneeze, your diaphragm and abdominal muscles contract forcefully. That increases pressure on your bladder very quickly. Normally, the muscles that support your bladder and urethra—your pelvic floor—tighten to keep urine in. But if those muscles are not responding fast enough and in a co-ordinated way, a small amount of urine can leak out.
