๐Ÿ“ข Important Update from Millwood Surgery

Mounjaro (weight loss injections)

We would like to update our patients regarding the availability of Mounjaro (weight loss injection) for weight management.

As of today, GP practices are permitted to prescribe Mounjaro. However, Millwood Surgery is currently unable to offer this treatment. This is because the local NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) for Norfolk and Waveney has not yet approved the service for GP practices in our area.

If you meet the clinical criteria, you may still be eligible to access Mounjaro through the Tier 3 Weight Management Service, which requires a referral from your GP. Please book a routine appointment if you would like to discuss this further.

๐Ÿ“ For patients with diabetes:
We can consider whether this medication could form part of your treatment plan during your next diabetes review.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We will keep you informed of any further updates.

๐Ÿ”„ Coils โ€“ More Than Just Contraception! ๐Ÿ”„

Are you aware that we fit coils at the surgery?

Coils (also known as IUDs) are a fantastic option not only for contraception, but also for managing difficult bleeding and as part of your HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy).

There are different types of coils available, including copper coils, which are completely hormone-free.

Message to Our Patients: Farewell to Dr Helen McCall

We would like to let you know that Dr Helen McCall will be leaving Millwood in early June, having decided to step away from her role at the practice.

Dr McCall has been a much-valued member of the Millwood team over many years, first joining us in 2010. After a short time away, she returned in 2016 and has since continued to make a significant contribution to both the practice and the care of our patients.

Throughout her time here, Dr McCall has taken on a number of important roles, particularly in the areas of palliative care and cancer support, and has been involved in shaping how we deliver care to our community.

She will be greatly missed by both colleagues and patients alike, and we know many of you will want to join us in thanking her for her dedication and wishing her all the very best for the future.
