In the words of a friend.... 'only you could be out on New Years Day picking up van parts!'

Sadly, he's right 😂 My reasoning, it was local-ish, it's in better condition than mine, and the seller is due to go away for work for 3 weeks.

Anyways, van clean up and prep tomorrow ready for work Monday. New parts to order too as I really want a splitter and sidebars. I'd like to lower it but she's a fairly heavy and think it may become an uncomfortable ride.... Any thoughts? 🤔

Battery Health vs Voltage

So, I know this battery is faulty as the car wouldn't crank unless I had a jump pack on it but it's a really good example of why you can't use a multimeter to test a battery.

As you can see, accross the terminals we have 12 volts so you'd assume the battery is in good working order, right?

Pop a battery health checker on though and it is only working on 27% of it's cells.

Battery Capacity - 740
Measured Capacity - 207

You can only get a true reading from a battery that is 100% charged so I'll retest it later on and see wether we can regain somelife into the cells and bring that measured capicity number up.
R.E.P - Is the charger automatically putting itself into repair mode eventhough we're at 12v.

I think it may be too far gone and buggered though 😬

This is even more appropriate for AGM/EFB (stop/start) batteries. An unhealthy battery can cause all sorts of weird and wonderful symptoms, not just a no start fault.
