Assisting families at a really vulnerable time is something we consider an honour.

The fact we continue to hear from many of our families way after a funeral means the world. We often pop the kettle on in our branches with them or have a chat on the phone.

We feel that's a special part of being a small, independent funeral directors....that we are able to continue relationships with the ones we have helped.

A rather humbling team Member Spotlight.....

Many know that I (Jen) look after this page. I asked the team on this occasion to write this one as I wrote theirs and I've been tempted not to share but told I must so here it is.

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on someone truly special – the heart and soul of Murrants.

Jen has been with Murrants for an incredible 6.5 years, and in October 2024, she officially took the reins and became the proud owner and director of the company. Since then she’s not only led the team with strength and compassion, but taken Murrants forwards with her unwavering dedication.

She lives in Martham with her soon-to-be husband, her wonderful youngest daughter and their lively dogs who definitely keep her on her toes! 🐾

To us, she’s not just a boss – she’s the most supportive leader anyone could ever ask for. Her door is always open, her heart even more so. She’s the first point of contact for all of our families and there’s never a funeral she’s not present for – standing with them in their most important moments with grace and care.

Whether it’s guiding the team, supporting families, or just being there when someone needs a kind word, she does it all. Simply put – she’s the best at what she does.

We’re lucky to have her. 💛

Today Jay and Jen visited the team at Langham Glass Ltd to see the beautiful ashes pieces they can offer.

We are proud to have the opportunity to offer their incredible jewellery and keepsake items which can include a loved ones ashes. Completely unique and from a family business, each item is extremely special. You can even watch it being made.

We will have samples in both our branches over the next few weeks with more details to follow and we couldn't resist some glass pieces to bring back and add to the offices while we were there!

It was a real pleasure being shown around, with the addition of a lovely cafe we enjoyed our time there!

Today has seen Skipper in the Martham branch getting a bit of office training from Parkers Packs !
He is learning that the office can be fun but how to both settle down and not to rush out of the door when it opens.
He's doing well! 😀

Next team member spotlight....

Jason is joint director at Murrants. He has many years of experience in the funeral profession and is dedicated to both our team and the families we assist.

We can always rely on Jay to be a calming influence when our office is busy and he works incredibly hard. He is a fantastic leader and is truly valued by us all.

Jason lives in Stalham and something you may not know is that he has been a DJ for years. This means we are lucky to be able to offer a professional music set up for services both in our premises and in churches. Being able to offer our different skills as a little team to help make a service personal really counts.

Jason is available to our families for funeral arrangements and support at either of our branches and is in attendance at the funerals we arrange.

Having a good sense of humour and a kind approach, Jason is an important member of team Murrants.

Our next team member spotlight.....

Charlotte has been with us for 18 months and is based at our Great Yarmouth branch on Northgate Street.

She has a lovely young family and lives in Gorleston.

Charlotte has proven to be a real natural when meeting with and helping families with funeral arrangements as well as a friendly face always willing to pop the kettle on and spend time chatting to people in need of a little of her time.

We are very lucky to have her. 😀

Sandra has been part of team Murrants for several years. You will find her based at our Martham branch.

Sandra lives in Martham and is a calm, supportive and kind support for our families (not to mention glamorous!)

Sandra is available to offer support on the phone or in branch and often sits chatting with our families just when they need a listening ear.

She is a very valued member of our little team. ❤️

We often describe grief to the families we look after as 'waves'. One moment it feels like we are coping and the next, it will feel overwhelming.

This is completely 'normal' and bereavement is a very individual journey.

Our team is always here to offer support, an ear to listen or shoulder to cry on. Our support won't disappear after a funeral, if you need us, reach out. X
