IBS can make intimacy tricky.

One minute you want closeness, the next your gut feels like a battering ram.

It’s frustrating. It’s exhausting. And it can make you feel isolated... even from the people you love most.

But here’s the truth: it doesn’t have to be this way.

When you’re open about what you’re going through, and your partner listens with empathy, that’s where connection grows stronger, not weaker.

Intimacy isn’t just about physical closeness. It’s understanding, patience, and knowing you’re not alone in this.

Managing IBS together is a team effort. And every small step, sharing, adapting, caring, brings you closer.

If you want support for navigating IBS in your relationships, the IBS Remission Mission membership is here. Comment membership for the link.

I always talk about stress and anxiety when it comes to IBS.. because yes, they play a big role in how our guts feel. But did you know that laughter and joy can affect your symptoms too?

Joy triggers relaxation, reduces stress hormones, and can soothe your gut-brain connection in ways you might not expect. A good laugh isn’t just fun - it’s healing!!

Imagine feeling moments of lightness and happiness helping you manage your IBS alongside practical strategies.

That’s exactly the kind of balance we cultivate in the IBS Remission Mission membership, where emotional support, expert guidance, and true community come together to lift you up.

If you want to experience more of that joy and calm in your life, DM me "membership" and I’ll send you the link to join.

Imagine having a superpower when it comes to IBS... that’s what journaling can feel like. It’s not about writing pages of your life "Dear Diary..." style. It’s about giving your mind and gut a pause, a space to breathe, connect and understand.

When you start logging your symptoms, your stress levels, and what you eat or do each day, patterns start to emerge. Suddenly, those “random” flare-ups make sense. You see what’s really triggering you: stress, certain foods, even your sleep habits.

And with that insight? Comes power. You’re no longer a hostage to your symptoms. You’re in control, armed with knowledge, and gentle with yourself.

Here’s a quick tip: grab your journal or an app, and spend five minutes writing down what you feel, what you ate, or how you’re feeling emotionally. Then, notice what connections appear.

Healthcare can feel daunting when you have IBS.
You sit in the waiting room, heart pounding, worried your symptoms won’t be heard or taken seriously. Maybe you’ve faced doctors who rush, who don’t see the full picture, or worse, dismiss your experience altogether and tell you "it's all in your head"
It’s so frustrating. It’s isolating. But here’s the truth: you are your best advocate.

Here are 3 tips to speak up and reclaim your care:
Prepare Ahead
Write down your symptoms, questions, and what you notice before your appointment. Clarity gives you confidence and makes it easier for your provider to understand.

Be Direct and Specific
Use clear words: “I experience…” “This impacts my life by…” It’s okay to say what you need from your healthcare team, whether it’s more explanation, tests, or referrals.

Bring Support
If possible, bring a trusted friend or family member. They can help remember details and back you up when emotions run high.

Your experience matters. Your gut health deserves attention and respect.

Have you had moments where you had to advocate for yourself? Share your story below, you never know who you might inspire.

Mindfulness isn’t magic, but it’s close.

Taking a moment to slow down and really feel what’s happening inside your body changes the game.

You don’t have to meditate for hours. Just a few mindful breaths can calm the gut-brain chaos and give your IBS symptoms a much-needed break.

Try this now: Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 4. Repeat three times. Instant calm. Easy, right?

Want more? My free guide lays out a simple 3-step plan to stop IBS flare-ups fast, no meds, no guesswork.

Download it, get curious, and take control. 💚
