IBS Doesn’t Define You!
These are some common questions I often get asked… feel free to comment with yours below
Q: I feel like IBS controls my life. How do I stop it from defining who I am?
A: It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed at times. Remember, IBS is just one part of your story, not the whole book. Focus on small daily choices that support your wellbeing and remind yourself of your strengths beyond symptoms. You are so much more than your gut.
Q: How do I explain IBS to others without feeling embarrassed?
A: Keep it simple. You can say something like, “I have a sensitive gut that needs extra care.” Honesty helps set boundaries while keeping things comfortable for you. Your experiences are valid and you don’t owe anyone detailed explanations unless you want to share.
Q: What’s one mindset shift that helped others feel more in control?
A: Many find power in shifting from “I have IBS” (powerless) to “I’m in managing IBS.” (in control). This subtle change puts you in the driver’s seat. You’re not a victim of your symptoms; you’re actively working with your body to find balance and relief.
Q: Where can I find support or tools to help in this journey?
A: Support can come from trusted communities, professional guidance, or helpful resources like my IBS Flare Relief Freebie and IBSRM programme. You’re not alone, and there are tools designed to guide you with kindness and expertise.
Remember, IBS may be part of your journey, but it doesn’t define your worth, joy, or potential.
Comment your questions below, I’m here to help.

I know that uncomfortable feeling after a heavy meal all too well.. bloating, tension and that unsettled gut sensation. Over the years, I’ve helped so many people find gentle ways to ease this.
Here are my top three go-to’s for soothing your digestion after eating a bit too much:
1. Take a slow, easy walk. It helps your gut move without stressing your body.

2. Sip on warm herbal tea like chamomile or peppermint to relax your digestive system.

3. Breathe deeply and calmly. It’s amazing how much easing your nervous system can quiet gut discomfort.

If flare-ups still catch you off guard, grab my IBS Flare Relief Freebie: it’s full of simple, effective tips to get you back on track with kindness.
You’ve got this. Let your gut feel taken care of.

Caring for your IBS means being able to set gentle, clear boundaries with your loved ones. Saying “no” or “that’s not for me” is an act of kindness to yourself, not selfishness.
Here’s how to advocate for your gut this festive season:
Communicate your needs calmly and kindly, whether it’s about what you eat, when you eat, or taking space for yourself.
Prepare yourself mentally, it’s okay if others don’t fully understand your IBS. Your health and comfort come first.
Build in self-care breaks during family time: step outside, do some deep breathing, or ground yourself in the moment.
These boundaries help protect your peace and allow you to show up fully, without discomfort or overwhelm.
Prioritise yourself this season. Your gut and emotional well-being deserve that care.
With hope and healing,

A gentle reminder for you, especially during the busy holiday season: You’re allowed to say no.

Saying no isn’t selfish; it’s an act of self-care, a boundary that helps protect your gut and your peace of mind. For those living with IBS, honouring your limits can make all the difference in staying calm and avoiding flare-ups.

This season, give yourself permission to pause, breathe, and choose what truly serves your well-being. Remember, your health and happiness come first.

If you want more support navigating stress, triggers, and the emotional ups and downs of IBS, my book Master Your IBS is here to guide you gently and expertly every step of the way.

If you know, you know.

The oversized jumper (because December bloat has its own personality).
The beige-only food plate at every social gathering... safe, predictable, no festive surprises.
The peppermint tea on tap, functioning as both beverage and emotional support system.
The fluffy socks, because warm feet = calmer nervous system = fewer gut theatrics.
The loo roll in the background, quietly reminding you who’s really running the show.
And of course, the hot water bottle, the silent winter hero we don’t give nearly enough credit.

IBS in December isn’t glamorous, but it is survivable, especially when you know what your body needs and why.

If you’re ready for calmer guts, clearer answers and a December that doesn’t feel like a obstacle course…
