has updated its Code of Conduct 📄
🔍 So what has changed?
✅ The four ethical pillars have shifted from Respect, Integrity, Service, Competence, to:
1️⃣ “I am Honest”
2️⃣ “I am Competent”
3️⃣ “I am Respectful”
4️⃣ “I am Responsible”
This moves the Code from abstract values to behaviours:
“I am...” – making expectations more personal and actionable.
✅ The language is clearer, with a Glossary and FAQ section at the back, including enforcement and application.
✅ The document itself has been streamlined from the previous 18 pages, to 7.
What hasn’t changed is the expectation that all members uphold the highest professional standards in occupational safety and health.
📚 To support this transition, IOSH has also updated its Ethical Practice in OSH e-learning and assessment on Blueprint.
