“Lisfranc Injuries: Small Area, Big Problem.”

A Lisfranc injury is an injury to the ligaments and joints in the midfoot that help stabilise the arch. It usually happens when the foot is twisted or loaded while planted, such as during sport, running, or a fall.

Common symptoms include midfoot pain, swelling, bruising, and difficulty putting weight on the foot. If not treated properly, it can lead to long-term instability and arthritis in the foot. 🦶

Here I’m stretching the lateral chain with lying on her back. I cross the right leg over the left and guide the straight left leg across the body while stabilising the ASIS. This targets the TFL, IT band, glute med and QL. Once we reach the end range, I have her reach the right arm overhead to bring the lat in, while I block above the greater trochanter with my knee to keep the pelvis stable and deepen the stretch through the whole side of the body.
