Need a psychologist? We have been extensively trained in many different types of therapy and do not believe that any particu

lar type can treat all problems and all people. We instead take into account people's experiences and needs, integrating therapy from different schools of thought. Our preferred therapeutic methods include CBT, Mindfulness Therapy, ACT Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy, among others.

Harrison Psychology Group is currently looking to hire a fully qualified LGBT Affirmative Clinical Psychologist or Psychotherapist who is registered and accredited with HCPC, UKCP or BACP. We value an integrative approach to psychological therapy and specifically value Mindfulness, ACT, CFT, CBT and additional Third Wave Therapies. We also highly value Psychodynamic Therapy including Existential, Humanistic and Interpersonal perspectives.

Client's seen in our practice typically present with a wide array of psychological struggles most commonly including depression, anxiety, work burnout, anger issues, relationship difficulties, obsessive compulsivity, trauma, low confidence, addiction and eating disorders.

We specialise in providing affirmative therapy for individuals within the LGBTQ+ community and, as such, actively encourage applications from positively identified LGBTQ+ practitioners and/or practitioners who maintain an in-depth knowledge of issues relating to LGBTQ+ identities and who have clinical experience working affirmatively with this population.

Agoraphobia is frequently misunderstood as a condition where a person is deeply afraid of going outside into open spaces and therefore avoids leaving their home. In reality, agoraphobia is an intense fear or panic attack in response to being in places or situations where escape would be difficult, where it might be embarrassing to have to escape or leave or where help might not be available of something went wrong.

The following signs of agoraphobia are key indicators of the condition:

• A fear that you will be unable to escape from a place or situation if you experience a panic attack

• Fear that a panic attack will make you look stupid or feel embarrassed in front of others

• A fear that your panic attack would be life-threatening or that you might lose your sanity

Harrison Psychology Group specialises in providing CBT Therapy in London. This type of therapy focusses on changing our thinking habits and behaviours. The way we think about ourselves, others and the world has everything to do with the way we feel and function. If we harbour critical beliefs about ourselves, we likely elicit feelings of sadness or depression. If we perpetually think that certain things will go wrong in our near or distant future, we will likely feel quite anxious. If we believe others are attacking our character, we likely elicit feelings of anger or perhaps shame and so on and so forth.

The issue here is that our thoughts are frequently inaccurate and possibly even irrational for a given situation. Other times they are just unhelpful in enabling us to cope. Nonetheless, most of us simply believe our thoughts if they pop up in our minds and take it to be true without question and this is a great cause for emotional distress.
