🏃‍♀️ I've been super sporty my entire life, starting with gymnastics aged 6. I've run marathons, swam and played netball competitively, trained as a yoga teacher, and pushed myself to my absolute limits at the gym. But surfing is HANDS DOWN the toughest sport I have ever attempted!

🏄‍♀️ I'm picking it up again after previously quitting in frustration as I found it too challenging, but I'm now embracing the learning process with grace.

There is something so beautiful about being a complete beginner, like a child taking their first steps and discovering the world for the first time.

Allowing ourselves to totally suck at something is a necessity for growth, be it a new hobby, a foreign language, embarking on a radically different career, or starting over in life.

The pain of being knocked back time and time again until we learn is the only way we grow.

It's the only way we create monumental shifts in our behaviour, relationships, and skills to achieve our dreams.

Stepping out of our comfort zone and into the unknown is where the gold is 🌟

If we're not growing, we're dying.

Ten years ago today was one of the best days of my entire life. I remember running along Regent's Park towards UCL Hospital, overcome with emotion and crying with excitement to witness this incredible little bundle come into the world.

The unbreakable bond was there from the start, a unique energy between two souls at the beginning of a lifelong connection.

The bond between aunty and niece is so special—a blend of familial love, mentorship, guidance, and fun.

We don't have to be mothers to fulfil an incredibly important maternal role in someone's life. Being 'Aunty Nic' to my niece, my friends' incredible children, and sometimes my younger colleagues and coachees is my favourite role in life.

Love and connection are our anchors, no matter what form they take. They are always available to us when we're lost, depressed, or addicted.

Have you noticed that the things you buy end up owning you? This is particularly true if they are purchased with credit. The payments are still leaving the bank account years after the enjoyment of the shiny new thing has passed.

An expensive mortgage can make us feel trapped in a job we hate and even drive us to burn out because we hate the life we lead to pay for the stuff we don't need.

Stuff weighs us down physically and mentally, and we don't need any of it!

❤️ What if we embraced our true selves, authentically and completely?

🎭 We hide behind masks, fearing rejection if people get to know us deeply. Low self-esteem and a lack of self-love lie at the heart of this struggle.

🤫 I intimately understand this battle, having previously wrestled with an eating disorder for 8 agonizing years, breeding secrecy and loneliness.

👥Yet, our shadow side is part of what makes us unique and lovable, and sharing our vulnerabilities isn't weakness; it's a testament to our strength.

Acepting ourselves as we are is also the first step towards not requiring external validation.
