Last week I helped a 12year old boy on Zoom with anxiety and low self esteem.

The boy and his mum both wrote about their experience with me, and the impact of the hypnosis session.

Here’s what they had to say.

My client 12 year old boy, wrote….

“ i was nervous about my session having never met a therapist before and only being 12, but Maxine made me feel very relaxed and was easy to talk to. She explained what she did and would be doing and put me at ease. I liked that there was no need or expectation to relay my personal experiences but that she could still help me rebuild my confidence and gave me choice in what we did.
At the end of my session I felt immediate relief and felt lighter, my mum said she could visibly see the difference too. It’s been a week since my session and I have felt like I can speak up for myself and I am not as afraid of speaking to people as I had been. I feel like I can take a lead role in my interactions and activities and not be afraid to be myself. I am really pleased my mum organised for me to see Maxine. It has really helped me.”

And his mum wrote…

He engaged really well, and by the end of the session he looked visibly relaxed—it made me realise how much tension he had been carrying. That evening he attended a sports activity and was noticeably more confident, which highlighted just how much he had withdrawn over the past year.
Although Maxine said it could take a few days to notice changes, we saw a difference straight away. A week on, he continues to feel more confident and describes feeling lighter, without the negative internal dialogue he previously had.
