This brilliant song was chosen to close the service for a truly brave man who helped plan his own ceremony. With two heartfelt tributes from his daughter and husband, a chapel full of bright colours and a beautiful slideshow, this was a proper celebration of his life. As was heard today and to quote from Star Trek “no goodbyes, just good memories”

An absolutely beautiful lady was celebrated this afternoon at Dukinfield Crematorium. Her 98 years were lived in an understated way, selfless to the core and leaving a lasting impact to all who knew her. Raised her son single handedly and in his own words “I never wanted for anything. I couldn’t have wished for a better mother and I will be eternally grateful to have shared my life with an extraordinary person”

There was only one song we could enter chapel to this afternoon for a man who was an integral part of his local cricket club for 60 years. A man who no-one had a bad word to say about and for whom family was everything to him

A beautiful celebration of life ceremony was held yesterday for a lady who expressed a wish to have an unattended service a few days earlier. Her family honoured that wish but felt it was important to come together to remember her life. In an intimate setting surrounded by a collection of photos around the room, hearing some of her favourite music and a shot of her favourite Southern Comfort and lemonade, her family well and truly did her proud

Over the last few weeks I’ve supported many families through their times of grief. Yesterday I was given the privilege of meeting two further families, both in very different circumstances. The first one was sadly grieving the loss of a life before it began, the second one was for a wonderful mum in her late 90s. The contrast was so striking and it hit home more than ever for me just what an honour it is to guide families at such a challenging and fragile time, no matter how long or short a life is. Thank you to all the funeral directors and families who put their trust in me

Today I will be taking part in a gruelling 32km walk in memory of this beautiful little boy,Lync. Sadly on 8th February 2024 his family’s world was turned upside down when he passed away. Being given the chance to support them at the time of their immediate loss was an immense privilege but truly heartbreaking. His parents Lee and Genna have somehow found the strength to offer support to other families who lose a child and to say they are inspirational is an understatement.

An interesting character who tested the boundaries and somehow got away with things that most others wouldn’t! Described as a belting bloke and a top fella he’s been remembered with much love today at Dukinfield Crematorium

When given the news he didn’t have long left to live, this brave man responded by simply getting on with the time he did have and in his family’s own words “enjoyed his last few months”. A lover of a steam train from young, he had another passion that his family were less aware of - ! As such, a sea of blue was seen in chapel and we closed the ceremony with Ella Fitzgerald’s Blue Moon. The last song this much loved man heard as he left this world peacefully, surrounded by family

All three pieces of music during this ceremony were by the incredible Whitney Houston, the favourite singer of this strong and independent woman. Memorable in terms of her determined character and inch long nails which were always brightly painted! Her heartbroken husband led the mourners in placing roses with his gorgeous wife

As a man who preferred a calm and fuss free life, his ceremony reflected his character. His two daughters and granddaughter were the most important people in his life. An amazing dad and “grandude” now lovingly laid to rest at Dukinfield Cemetery

With his Stetson proudly displayed, some of his favourite music and several tributes that I shared, this one off and unique man was celebrated in style. Distinctive in terms of appearance and character, a truly accomplished musician and described as a cool dude! May “the hat” live on
