6n6 for 30 😅

The last couple of weeks I’ve introduced some cardio into my workouts.

Nothing silly, I just thought I wanted to increase my movement.

I say “introduced”.
But really, if I want to, I’ll do it, If I don’t, or don’t have time, I don’t.
The way I see it is that anything I do is a bonus.
If I do nothing, so be it. No stress.

It’s not a big thing or a requirement, I just felt like it recently, so why not 🤷🏼‍♀️

Today I did a strength program pull session & I felt STRONG

Then a quick match uphill on the tread mill.
I call it “6n6 for 30” (6incline @ 6pace for 30 mins or so)
Today I also did 3mins 45secs run around 25mins before then winding down.

Tell you what though, even just shifting the 6lbs I have done in the last 18 days has really made the difference on my performance.
It’ll be “7n6” in no time.

There was a time when I used to run 10km in 50mins every morning before work… “1n12 for 50” weeks a long way off right now. Not sure I’ll ever do that again. It’s not even a goal right now. But it’s something I might consider again. Some time.

Oh hey, it’s been 5 months.. 😎

Today is the first time I’ve felt *like me* since early March.

I’ve had a lot of hospital visits & drugs & interferences that have meant despite doing what I’ve always done, my body just wasn’t doing what it has done in the past. To say this was infuriating is an understatement. I mean none of my clothes fit, at all. (New wardrobe excuses haha)

It was frustrating but I knew it’s pass.

I knew the reason why. And that made it okay (ish) 😅

But it’s taken a full 6 months out of my previous progress and now we’re finally getting it back to actually doing its thang.

And. Annoyingly. Despite training hard, I was 24lbs up in 5 months. (I’d say 6lbs was probably bad food because of hormones and drugs, whilst the other 18lbs is just because my body did not want to do “it’s normal” god dammit).

2 weeks ago i could tell my body was ready.

It’s now responding well & today I felt strong (despite having lost strength 😅) and just RIGHT for the first time in what feels forever.

I don’t know what the next few months may hold, but today I feel GOOD. And I’m here and ON IT.
So I’m documenting it.

It was GOOD to be back! 😃

I took some good time out for me & other stuff going on, but I LOVE THE GYM. (Have I said that yet today?)

I had 3 weeks fully out.
No training, no gym, no tracking food, just me, focusing on other things in my life, and me…
It was well needed, but boy did I need to return cos I was really missing training and feeling STRONG 💪🏼💪🏼

I basically am calling it a “deload (3) week(s)” 😃

I may take some more of these over the next few months, I’ve not decided, but today I felt ON IT.

Here’s me, back in my happy place, a *little* bit fluffier & a *little* bit weaker than I was 3 weeks ago, but 100% here.
And.
ON IT .

Be your own motivation

When I started this journey, I put a photo of myself on my Home Screen.

It was questioned by many, perhaps because it’s the kinda thing your bf should have on their phone, not ur own...

But I stood by my decision, because every time I saw if it motivated me.

It’s that time again.

I need me to motivate me.

Stress started to creep in again last wk & have an actual impact on me. The first time since before Xmas. So a picture of me is back on my Home Screen.

It’ll remind me I got this and to stay strong & focused.

A little motivational word also helps 💁🏼‍♀️

Self indulgent? No
Vain? No
Motivational? Yes.

YOU are the most valuable asset you have.

I seem to have lost my way a bit this last week so this weekend I’m going to focus on productivity, getting some long overdue tasks done that are weighing me down & resetting for the week ahead.

Last week I nailed my steps & training sessions, but that was it.
Sleep, face care, food, health, time outs. All went to s**t.

That’s okay. I’m only human, & I’m not gonna feel guilty or bad about it.
It is what it is.
It’s life.
I didn’t have the energy to focus on everything last week.

The most precious thing I possess is me, so now I’ve got some space, I’m gonna clear up some s**t that’s been on my mind, so I can be in a great place to start Monday being awesome & on it.

So today I’ll mainly be at my laptop getting s**t done, eating good food, getting those steps & my workout in. May even take some time out this evening with my favourite male human (he’s a lucky guy 😂).

Always look after you first.
And if you need some space take it.
Do what you need to do.
Look after you.

The hardest part of getting a workout in is always getting there.

It’s taken me a couple of years, but I now have my motivation down...
* Good clothes on
* Take some tasty pre-workout
* Pack my rucksack (water, & a protein bar, just in case!)
* EarPods in
* Good choooons on

I’m super happy it’s the weekend... I can’t wait for.. oh. ...
So it’s a long walk again both days I guess! Hey ho... I’m actually getting quite into my lockdown routine! 😅💁🏼‍♀️

I’m a 3pm break girl

My weekly liquid intake looks like the below;
* 23litres (averages 3l+ a day) water
* 3 BCAA cans
* 3 pre-workout drinks
* 3-4 diet cokes
That is it.
No squash. No coffee. No Tea. No milk. No shakes. Nothing else.
(I’m not drinking alcohol atm as it’s dry January-thro-March this year but that’s the only variation from the above I guess!)

On a none training day I use a Diet Coke to break up my day of water water water 💦 & also satisfy a craving for something sweet...

People love to point out the bad things with Diet Coke, but Yano what, it’s not that bad & I could be drinking far worse or loads more. So the negative ninny’s can pipe down.

I don’t always need/have one, but for me, a few diet cokes a week keep me (mostly!) on the straight & narrow.

So I’ll just keep doing me on this one...
