Reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)

ℹ️It's not known why some babies die suddenly and for no apparent reason from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), or cot death.

ℹ️Experts do know placing a baby to sleep on their back reduces the risk, and exposing a baby to cigarette smoke or allowing them to overheat increases the risk.

ℹ️It's also known there's an association between sleeping with your baby on a bed, sofa or chair (co-sleeping) and SIDS.

As parents, one milestone that we look forward to is hearing that first real laugh! ⁣💚💜

👶🏻First laughs usually happen around 3-5 months⁣

👶🏼Laughs become more intentional around 6 months ⁣

👶🏽The sound of your baby’s laugh will change as they get older and their voice changes⁣

👶🏾Some babies laugh more than others⁣

👶🏿Babies may laugh in response to a silly face, funny sound, or from being tickled ⁣

❗️Babies reach milestones at different times. Some may laugh earlier and some may laugh later. If you have concerns about your child’s development please contact your Health Visitor

Thank you Simply Well Baby for this fantastic information ℹ️

Happy Easter from all at the Oral Health Team 🐣 🍫 🐰
We hope you all have a lovely time with your little ones. Please keep these top tips in mind over their holidays to help maintain good oral health 🦷 🪥

🔸Brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, dry brushing is recommended & to encourage the children to spit out any excess and not to rinse.
🔸When enjoying any Easter Eggs & goodies please try to keep any treats to mealtimes where possible rather than snacking on them in between meals 🍫
🔸Visiting your dentist for routine check ups and participating in the childsmile programme also aids good oral health 🦷 🪥

Why play is so important.
Playing provides opportunities for children to learn social interaction. While playing together, children learn to cooperate, follow the rules, develop self-control, and generally get along with other people.
