🎪 Part 1: Carnival Fun at Kincaid House

We recently held our annual Carnival-themed Family Fun Day here at Kincaid House, and it was a fantastic afternoon with a brilliant turnout.

Guests enjoyed live entertainment from the talented Bill McKillop and dancers from Julie Darroch Dance Academy.

We also had a visit from our furry friend at Bunny & Co, and were amazed by Bob Bonkers with his magic and balloon modelling.

Cheers to Great Company and Flavourful Moments 🧀

At Kincaid, we marked National Wine and Cheese Day in style — with residents and families coming together for an afternoon of good company and delicious tastes. Our talented kitchen colleagues treated everyone to a stunning selection of cheeses, including Blue, Arran Chilli, Cheddar, Smoked, Cranberry and Mustard, perfectly paired with crackers, chutneys and grapes.

The relaxing atmosphere was complete with gentle background music, laughter, and more than a few raised glasses as stories were shared and memories made. 🍷

Thank you to our wonderful colleagues who helped create a setting so full of warmth, comfort and connection.

🎶 A warm welcome back to The Bunker Boys – Donny & Ian – who brought the sounds of the decades to life here at Kincaid with their guitars and timeless tunes!

Our residents had a brilliant afternoon filled with song, dance, and smiles. The energy was uplifting, and it’s clear these talented gentlemen are quickly becoming favourites in our home.

A big thank you to our fantastic colleagues for making moments like these possible. We can’t wait to have The Bunker Boys back again soon! 💜

What a lovely afternoon spent in the sunshine! ☀️

Our residents had a wonderful experience with Cycling Without Age Scotland, thanks to the kindness of volunteers Kenny and David. They enjoyed a scenic ride through Battery Park and along the Esplanade, soaking in the beautiful views and glorious weather.

To round off the outing, everyone returned for a delicious ice cream from Esplanade Café. A perfect treat after a day of fresh air and uplifting company. 🍦

Sundaes and Smiles at Kincaid House 🍨

We celebrated National Ice Cream Day with style and plenty of sweet treats at Kincaid House. An ice cream trolley arrived stocked with a range of delicious toppings, sauces and flavours—giving our residents the chance to craft their own ice cream sundaes.

There was lots of laughter and creativity as everyone chose their favourite combinations and shared ideas for the perfect scoop. It was the ideal way to cool down, enjoy a little indulgence, and spend a fun afternoon together. 🍓

🔥 Team Kincaid House Fireballs – Going for Gold! - Part 2

After an action-packed morning of games and giggles, everyone enjoyed a well-earned lunch prepared by our fantastic kitchen colleagues – full of flavour and fuel for the afternoon ahead!

The fun didn’t stop there – with more games, more cheering, and plenty of smiles all around. It was heartwarming to see residents and colleagues alike encouraging one another and celebrating every effort, big or small. 💬

We were also delighted to be joined by our management team, Anne and Alison, who came along to show their support for Team Kincaid. Their encouragement meant so much to everyone and added to the uplifting spirit of the day.

A huge thank you to all who took part and helped make the event such a success. We’re already counting down the days until next year’s Sports Day!

🔥 Team Kincaid House Fireballs – Going for Gold! - Part 1

Residents from across the home came together for a fantastic day of friendly competition at the 'Going for Gold' Sports Day, joining other local care homes for some classic games and plenty of fun!

Our team – proudly named the Kincaid House Fireballs – took part in a variety of challenges including the Slipper Toss, Egg and Spoon race, shooting hoops, and more. Spirits were high, and the energy was infectious as everyone gave it their all to earn points and cheer each other on.

The event was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and make new friends from other homes, all while enjoying a brilliant afternoon of laughter and teamwork.

Fun, Fitness and Fabulous Energy at Kincaid House! 🎶

We had a fantastic time during a fun-filled exercise session with Fiona from Fun Fitness! Fiona joined the ladies and gents in Arran’s dining room, where everyone got moving with a variety of activities designed to boost strength, flexibility and smiles.

From gentle warm-ups and arm strengthening with yoga balls, to boxing techniques and leg stretches using resistance bands — there was something for everyone. We wrapped up the session with some lively pom pom routines to the beat of the music, bringing lots of laughter and energy to the room.

A big thank you to Fiona for bringing such enthusiasm and encouragement to Kincaid House.

We’re already looking forward to the next session!

🙏 A Special Visit from Father Paton at Kincaid House

We were delighted to welcome back Father Paton from our local parish, St Lawrence’s, for a beautiful Mass service.

Residents took great comfort in taking part or simply listening to the prayers throughout the service. Some chose to receive communion, while others received a blessing at the end — a truly meaningful experience for all involved.

Afterwards, there was time for a lovely chat with Father Paton, bringing smiles and thoughtful conversation to the afternoon.

A heartfelt thank you to Father Paton for his continued support and presence at Kincaid House.

Celebrating American Independence Day at Kincaid House 🎉

Residents at Kincaid House came together for a lovely afternoon marking the 4th of July. Everyone enjoyed delicious American-style hotdogs and cakes, lovingly prepared by our kitchen colleagues, along with tea, coffee and a few tasty snacks.

There was plenty of laughter and conversation as residents socialised and shared stories — and the day ended on a high note with a fun-filled karaoke sing-along! 🎤

It’s always a pleasure to see everyone enjoying themselves and making special memories together.

🐾 Furry Friends, Little Smiles & Big Joy at Kincaid! 🐰🐣💛

What an unforgettable afternoon at Kincaid as we welcomed back Laura & Stan from Bunny & Co, along with their delightful animal companions!

Our residents enjoyed every moment of gentle interaction with the adorable rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, mice, and even some curious land snails. These calm and cuddly sessions brought comfort, laughter, and meaningful connection.

We were also delighted to have visiting families join us—and the children were absolutely thrilled! From petting soft fur and feeding feathered friends to showing off their colourful face paint, the little ones lit up the afternoon with their excitement and joy 🐥🎨

It was a truly special day that brought generations together through the simple joy of animals and shared experience. We can’t wait to welcome Bunny & Co back again for more furry fun at our Summer Fun Day in August!
