Today we enjoyed a lovely start to the week here at Alt Na Craig.

This morning we played bingo, which is always a firm favourite with our residents. There was lots of concentration, friendly chat, excitement, and smiles as everyone waited to see who would shout β€œBingo!” first. πŸ†

In the afternoon we welcomed Fitness with Fiona for some light exercise. These sessions are a great way to keep residents moving in a safe and enjoyable way, helping with gentle mobility, coordination, circulation, and confidence β€” while also having plenty of fun together. πŸ’ͺ😊

We had a lovely relaxed Sunday here at Alt Na Craig. This morning, we enjoyed a variety of games together in the garden room β€” lots of laughs, friendly competition, and great conversation all round 🎲😊

In the afternoon, we settled in and continued watching The Crown πŸ‘‘ with some refreshments, creating a cosy and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

We are so happy with this beautiful weather it’s been lovely having the doors open and making the most of it! This morning, a few of our residents enjoyed some fresh air with a walk up to our local park. The views are absolutely stunning… we really are lucky to have this right on our doorstep πŸŒΏπŸ’™

🌟 Funday Friday at Alt Na Craig 🌟

What a fabulous day we’ve had!

This morning we headed out on our bus for a lovely run to one of our favourite places, The Tail O’ The Bank, where residents enjoyed cake, a cuppa and great company. A few of us then went for a wee stroll along the front to enjoy some fresh sea air. πŸŒŠβ˜•πŸ°

Getting out and about is so important β€” it encourages independence, social connection, fresh air, conversation and a lovely change of scenery.

In the afternoon, we welcomed Paul from Fit-Baw for a fun-filled exercise session. Our residents really do have a ball at this class β€” pardon the pun! 🀩⚽ We laughed from start to finish while still giving the exercises our very best effort.

πŸ† A huge congratulations to Iain, our Player of the Match! πŸ‘ What a fantastic effort!

Sessions like this help promote gentle movement, coordination, confidence, wellbeing and plenty of smiles.

Varrie has been part of life here at Alt Na Craig for 2 years and 3 months, and she truly feels at home 🏑

Originally from the East End of Greenock, Varrie enjoys sharing her memoriesβ€”especially funny stories that always bring a smile 😊

Varrie previously worked as a telephonist in the AMP in Port Glasgow, and she enjoys reminiscing about her working days.

We had a lovely start to our day getting creative with some VE Day colouring posters 🎨 It was a calm and enjoyable morning, with residents expressing themselves through art and adding beautiful touches for our displays.

In the afternoon, we were delighted to welcome Rosi from Lingo Flamingo 🦩 who brought lots of fun and energy to our Spanish lesson! Residents enjoyed learning some basic Spanish through music, quizzes, and interaction – plenty of smiles all round 😊

This morning some of our residents enjoyed spending time out in the garden, with our keen gardeners helping to tidy things up and take pride in the space 🌼

Today at Alt Na Craig πŸ’™

We had a lovely, meaningful day here in the home.

This morning, our Boys Club settled in to watch The Sons of Katie Elder, which was thoroughly enjoyed β€” a great film bringing back memories and sparking conversation 🎬

Alongside this, we carried out our important 1:1 care calls. These moments are so valuable, giving residents time for meaningful chats, emotional support, and person-centred care in a calm, comfortable setting.

In the afternoon, we were delighted to welcome Rev David Burt from Old Gourock and Ashton Church, who led our church service. These services are incredibly important to many of our residents, offering comfort, routine, and spiritual support, as well as a chance to come together in reflection and community.

A well-rounded day full of connection, comfort, and companionship 🀍
