We also enjoyed a lovely bus trip in the afternoon as we took some of our residents down to the Tail of the Bank. 🌊🚌 It’s such a beautiful spot and always a favourite outing.

We are always made to feel so welcome by the lovely staff, and today was no different. We enjoyed some tea and cakes while taking in the views and having a good blether together. ☕🍰

Getting out and about like this is wonderful for wellbeing, giving everyone a change of scenery, fresh air and the chance to relax and socialise.

In the afternoon some of our residents gathered together for a relaxing time doing puzzles and colouring in. 🧩🎨

Activities like these have many wonderful benefits. They help to keep the mind active, improve concentration and memory, and can be very calming and therapeutic. It’s also a lovely opportunity for residents to sit together, chat, share stories and enjoy each other’s company while taking part in something creative.

A peaceful and enjoyable afternoon spent together. 💛

Our Wednesday morning Knit & Natter was full of creativity and lovely conversation. 🧶🐣 The residents have been busy knitting some adorable Easter chicks, and they are coming along beautifully!

Knitting has so many wonderful benefits. It helps keep our minds active, improves concentration and coordination, and is a lovely way to relax. Most importantly, it brings everyone together for a chat, a laugh, and a great sense of achievement when we see what we’ve created.

A cosy, creative morning enjoyed by all. 💛

One-to-One Time at Alt Na Craig

Today we also spent some lovely one-to-one time with our residents, checking in to make sure everyone is feeling okay and reminding them that we are always here if they need us.

These little moments happen every day in our home. Even if it’s just a two-minute chat, it can mean so much more—especially for residents who choose to spend time in their rooms.

A simple conversation, a listening ear, or a friendly face can make such a difference to someone’s day. It’s all about care, connection, and making sure no one ever feels alone. 💜

Tuesday Afternoon at Alt Na Craig

This afternoon we had our church service led by Rev W. Nesbit from St John’s Episcopal Church, Union Street. It was a lovely, peaceful service that our residents really enjoyed.

These services bring many wonderful benefits for our residents, offering comfort, spiritual support, and a sense of community. It is also a special time for reflection, prayer, and familiar hymns that many of our residents know and love.

We are always grateful for these meaningful visits that bring calm, connection, and joy to our home. 🙏✨

How fantastic it was to see our residents looking so relaxed and enjoying having their feet pampered today. Our lovely foot spas were set up and the room was filled with the beautiful scent of lavender, creating such a calm and peaceful atmosphere.

It was wonderful to watch everyone unwind, chat, and enjoy a little bit of well-deserved relaxation together. These moments of self-care are so important for wellbeing and comfort.

Tuesday at Alt Na Craig

This morning we had Niall from Morton Heritage pop in to see us. We had a lovely group discussion and shared some memories while chatting about the history of our home town and old Greenock Morton.

Everyone really enjoyed learning and reminiscing, and we are looking forward to Niall and Kay coming back soon with even more information and stories about the history of the team, and the local area.

A wonderful morning of conversation, memories, and community spirits.

What a finale! That’s us now finished watching Downton Abbey from start to finish and what a fabulous journey it has been. Our residents have been completely gripped by the series, sharing so many moments of entertainment, laughter and even a few tears along the way.

It has been wonderful gathering together for cosy evenings with refreshments in hand, watching the story unfold and chatting about all our favourite characters and moments. A truly lovely experience we have all enjoyed together.

Now the big question is… what shall we watch next? 📺✨

Marvellous Monday at Alt Na Craig! 🌸🌞

This morning our residents got creative with some Mother’s Day crafts and beautiful flower arranging. Everyone did a brilliant job and it was wonderful to see the creativity and teamwork on display. 💐✨

In the afternoon we enjoyed a friendly game of bingo, with some great prizes up for grabs and plenty of laughs along the way. 🎉

Also A few resident made the most of the lovely weather and enjoyed a walk in the sunshine, soaking up some fresh air and good company. A perfect way to finish off the day! 🌼

A lovely Funday Sunday here with our residents. This morning we enjoyed a relaxing word search followed by some armchair exercises, keeping both our minds and bodies active.

This afternoon we settled in to watch more Downton Abbey with some refreshments, which everyone is thoroughly enjoying as we get closer to the end of the series.

A wholesome, cosy day filled with smiles, good company and great conversation. 💜

International Women’s Day is a time to recognise the achievements of women, past and present, and to celebrate the friendships, stories and experiences that make every woman unique and special.
