Moving On Inverclyde is a support service for people affected by their own or another’s problematic use of alcohol or drugs. We have been providing services in Inverclyde since 2002. We believe everyone has the potential to rebuild their lives and reshape their futures. We also understand those using our service may have other difficulties or situations requiring support besides their recovery. This is why we have a full and robust package of support available through our partnerships and collaborations with local services to empower and enable a successful recovery.

Our final SMART Recovery meeting of 2026 will take place in Port Glasgow on Friday 19th December.

Our Port Glasgow meetings are held at 7 1/2 John Wood Street from 12:30pm-3pm.

Thankyou to everyone who has attended our open SMART meetings during 2025, and for the Inverclyde Community Development Trust for welcoming us to 7 1/2 John Wood Street! 💚

Our Port Glasgow SMART meetings will resume on Friday 10th January, and will be held every Friday for anyone interested in attending (you do not have to attend our services to come along!)

If you are unable to attend our Port Glasgow sessions, we hold weekly sessions across Inverclyde!

Take care of yourself, ask for support if needed, and don’t be afraid to step back if you need to.

Look out for your friends and loved ones too... a quick check-in, a ride home, or just being there can make all the difference.

Prisoners week at HMP Greenock💚

A few weeks ago, we attended a celebration at HMP Greenock for Prisoners Week with staff and residents.

This years theme was crossroads- "Life can be full of decisions – we make hundreds every day. Some of these are pretty trivial, others can be momentous and have long-lasting implications. At times like this we can feel paralysed, not knowing which way to turn. Life at the Crossroads."

We’re looking forward to welcoming our Moving On Inverclyde service users to this year’s Christmas Party! 🎄🎅🏻

It’s a small, cosy celebration just for the people currently engaging with our services, and a chance to relax, share some food, and enjoy a bit of festive cheer together.

Our party will be on Thursday 18 December, from 12:00pm – 2:30pm.

If you’re one of our service users, we’d love to see you there. Come along, get comfortable, and enjoy an afternoon that’s all about connection and community 💚
