Another huge well done to Mark, who has now earned his Functional Fitness Fanatic t-shirt after completing 6 circuit sessions in a row 💚👏

Mark has been putting in the effort every single week, and the difference has been incredible to see. Speaking about the impact the sessions have had, Mark shared that exercise has “changed his whole outlook and given him something to focus on.”

Our Recovery Worker Joseph added, “He’s looking and feeling great. He gets top marks from me.”

These sessions are about so much more than fitness. They’re about confidence, routine, wellbeing, and finding positive focus through recovery 💚

Circuit training takes place every Wednesday and is open to all Moving On Inverclyde service users. Speak to Joseph for more information 👏

Over the past two weeks, we’ve had Chloe with us on placement from the University of the West of Scotland as part of her paramedic studies 💚

During her time with Moving On Inverclyde, Chloe has been able to sit in on group sessions, attend su***de prevention training, and learn more about addiction, mental health, and the challenges people can face throughout recovery.

Speaking about her placement, Chloe said:

“The compassion, empathy, and support shown by the team has been inspiring, and it’s something I hope to carry forward into my future paramedic practice. Thank you to everyone at Moving On for making me feel so welcome and for such a valuable learning experience!”

Thank you Chloe for spending time with us and for being such a lovely part of the team over the last two weeks. We wish you all the best in your future career 👏💚

Recovery is often built in the small moments 💚

Last week, Scottish Families Inverclyde hosted another beautiful Creative Coping session at Moving On Inverclyde, bringing people together for an afternoon of creativity and connection.

Family members affected by a loved one’s alcohol or drug use spent time creating personalised coasters filled with unique designs.

Creative spaces like this can play such an important role in reducing isolation and supporting wellbeing through recovery and difficult times!

The next Creative Coping session will take place on Thursday 21st May from 12pm until 2pm at Moving On, Jamaica Street, Greenock. Alongside arts and crafts, attendees can enjoy a bowl of soup and hot drinks while connecting with others in a safe and welcoming space.

Delivered in partnership with Scottish Families Inverclyde and funded by Inverclyde’s Warm Hand of Friendship Fund 💚

Mental health struggles can affect anyone, and for many people in recovery, grief and trauma are part of that journey too.

For Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re sharing Olivia’s story to remind others that asking for help is not weakness and that nobody should have to struggle alone!

“I was exhausted emotionally and mentally, and I didn’t know how to cope anymore.”

With the right support things can begin to change. Through counselling, community, and compassionate support, Olivia found hope again and started rebuilding her life one step at a time.

Stories like Olivia’s remind us how important it is to create safe, supportive spaces where people feel heard instead of judged 💚
