Moving On Inverclyde is a support service for people affected by their own or another’s problematic use of alcohol or drugs. We have been providing services in Inverclyde since 2002. We believe everyone has the potential to rebuild their lives and reshape their futures. We also understand those using our service may have other difficulties or situations requiring support besides their recovery. This is why we have a full and robust package of support available through our partnerships and collaborations with local services to empower and enable a successful recovery.

Beacon of Recovery ✨

On Saturday we had the privilege of joining local recovery organisations at the Beacon Arts Centre for a day full of connection, laughter, and hope. The event was packed with music, comedy, and powerful recovery stories 💚

A huge thank you to Carolan McPherson, who provided a creative space for doodling and art throughout the day (she also leads our Friday art group here at Moving On Inverclyde), and to Lee Walls from Firewalk in Scotland, whose motivational speech truly inspired everyone in the room 🔥

We’re also so grateful to the amazing entertainers and every single person who came along to support and celebrate recovery together. The energy was incredible and it was beautiful to see so many people united in hope 🌈✨

SMART Family & Friends Meetings 💚

Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol & Drugs are now holding their SMART Family & Friends meetings right here at our centre in Greenock! Meetings will begin TODAY at 1pm.

📍 Where: Moving On Inverclyde, 3 Jamaica Street, Greenock, PA15 1XX
🕐 When: 1st & 3rd Monday of every month | 1–3pm
👥 Who: Age 16+ and affected by someone else's drug or alcohol use? Come along for a safe, supportive space.

Yesterday was all about laughter, connection, and the joy of teamwork as we took to the pitch for an unforgettable game of Bubble Football! 🎉

We’re looking forward to joining partners at the Beacon Arts Centre this Saturday (11am–4pm) as part of Recovery Month

It promises to be a day full of inspiration, creativity, and community spirit

We’re delighted to be involved with:
✨ Family fun including children’s entertainment and Groove Dance with Lorna Mitchell
✨ Guest speakers Dee Maxwell and Lee Walls – bringing comedy, motivation, and lived experience of recovery
✨ Artist-led creative work, including painting plinths 🎨
✨ Acupuncture with magnets in partnership with TPS Pathways to Rehab

We did it! 🔥

Our first ever Firewalk for Recovery brought together courage, connection, and community in a way we’ll never forget. This video captures just a glimpse of the energy, emotion, and power that filled the space!

We’re so grateful to Firewalk in Scotland for leading the experience and helping us all find our fire, and to Branchton Community Centre for providing such a welcoming venue.

We’ll be sharing more moments from the event soon… but for now, we just want to say: thank you for being part of something powerful🔥💚
