Our Engagement & Participation Worker had the pleasure to visit Wybers Wood Academy last week to see what they had created as part of their Thrive Day.

We helped their Peer Mentors a few weeks previously, to explore ideas for a theme for a whole school art project and they chose to create a tree full of leaves representing things that bring everyone joy (although we're not sure Grimsby Town have been bringing much joy with their results recently🤦‍♀).

And we couldn't help notice the QR code around the corridors. Every child in school has an i-pad for their learning and if they need some extra support from the pastoral team they can use the QR code to let them know 💛

As the Year 2025 is coming to a wrap, it's great to look back on what we've achieved this year, to be grateful for all that we've done and to look forward to what we can achieve next year.

🎼And for a bit of fun, we've added a little playlist based on us and some of what we do. We really do recommend you check out the music video to the OK Go song... and their other videos too. They are always so creative, playful and full of fun 🙂

Today OnSide launched Generation Isolation 2025, the latest study into young people’s free time, social lives and wellbeing in an increasingly digital, AI-driven world.

The report reveals that 39% of young people have turned to AI chatbots for support, company or advice, with 6% saying they trust AI more than a real person. At the same time, 76% spend most of their free time on screens, and over a third (34%) experience high or very high levels of loneliness.

Youth Zones offer a powerful alternative: 92% of attendees say their Youth Zone has made a positive difference to their lives, giving them real connection, trusted adults and somewhere they can truly belong.
