During Maternal Mental Health week, and always, there is help available to anyone who is struggling ❤️‍🩹 you matter, you're not alone ❤️‍🩹

Maternal or perinatal mental health is the term used to talk about the mental health of people in the time during pregnancy and up to two years after they give birth.

It can be a hugely vulnerable time. Su***de continues to be the leading cause of direct maternal death between 6 weeks and 12 months after birth.

We want you to know that if you’re in this time of your life and you’re finding it really tough, we see you and we are here to listen to you without judgement on 116 123.

📚Supporting a young person through exam season❓

This post is for you....

Supporting a young person through exams can be a really stressful and challenging time for parents and carers too.

Each young person experiences exam season differently. Some may feel motivated and confident, others overwhelmed and anxious, and many will move between lots of different feelings! Creating a space where they feel heard and accepted can make a meaningful difference.

You could try:

👉Listening without immediately offering solutions- sometimes we just need to feel heard

👉Acknowledging their feelings, even if you don’t fully understand them

👉Encouraging realistic expectations, rather than perfection

👉Helping them find balance - rest, food, and time to switch off are just as important as revision

👉Offering reassurance that their worth is not defined by exam results

It’s okay not to get it “right” all the time-we are all human! What matters most is the relationship, and the sense of safety and support you offer.

You don’t have to take away their stress- just walking alongside them can be enough ❤

👋 Meet Jess Brown, Therapeutic Counsellor here at Cudox.

Today Jess thinks about what does it truly mean to be human?

It’s a question that goes beyond surviving the day-to-day; it’s about how we connect, how we understand ourselves, and how we navigate the complexities of the human experience.

For the first time, Cudox Wellbeing, are bringing The Journey Conference to Grimsby Auditorium. This is an immersive event designed to bridge the gap between professional expertise and the insight of lived experience. Whether you are a professional working within services, an individual with your own personal journey or you’re simply curious, this space is for you. We are bringing leading voices and community experts together to explore where healing begins and how our stories shape us.

This is not just a day of sitting quietly, you will have the opportunity to take part in interactive sessions, reflective sensory spaces, and movement-based activities, including a silent disco experience. Alongside the main programme, there will be a marketplace that will highlight a range of local services, connecting you with support and organisations in our local community.

It is a reminder that every story matters, that healing looks different for everyone, and how healing begins when we allow ourselves the space to feel and connect.

At its heart, this event is about belonging and stays true to Cudox’s values, by ensuring accessibility and inclusivity; creating a safe space where everyone is welcome and offering subsidised tickets to ensure those who want to attend can.

Edward’s work spans prisons, elite sport, emergency services, education, the NHS and corporate teams, but his message is universal: progress beats perfection.

Known for his humour, warmth and practical insight, Edward specialises in helping people notice the unhelpful narratives that hold them back.

At The Journey Conference, Edward will deliver his talk Don’t Believe Everything You Think, which invites audiences to laugh, learn and leave with a renewed sense of possibility.

We’re continuing to listen- and we’d still love to hear from you 🙏

Our ‘Thoughts on Therapy’ survey is already helping us build a clearer picture of people’s real experiences of mental health support across Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. But..... the more voices we hear, the clearer that picture becomes.

If you haven’t yet taken part, now is a great time to share your thoughts- you can do so totally anonymously if you wish. Whether you’ve accessed therapy, are waiting for support, or have never reached out, your experience matters.

Your feedback is helping us to:
🟢 Shape and improve services based on real experiences
🟢Highlight gaps and barriers people are facing
🟢Build strong evidence to influence future funding and provision
🟢Make mental health support more accessible, inclusive, and effective for our communities

Every response adds to the evidence we’re building and helps us advocate for better support locally.

If you can spare a few minutes, please take part and help us continue driving positive change:

🚶‍♀️Did you know we offer Walking Therapy?🚶‍♂️

Talking therapy doesn’t have to mean sitting in a room if that doesn’t feel right for you.

At Cudox, we offer therapy in a way that meets you where you are. For some, that might look like a gentle walk in nature, side by side rather than across from each other. For others, it’s simply having the space to talk, reflect, and be heard without pressure or expectation.

Walking therapy is about exploring your thoughts and feelings in a safe, supportive environment within nature with a trained and highly experienced therapist.

There’s no “one size fits all” approach- everyone is different, and that’s exactly how we approach your support.

The photos shared here were taken by Bev at one of our beautiful walking locations. Stunning or what?!
