Driver has sustained fatal injuries in Laceby collision

Shortly before 9am this morning we were called to a road traffic collision on the A46, Laceby bypass at the junction with Caistor Road. A Ford Focus car was in collision with a DAF truck carrying a skip.

The driver of the car sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in the car suffered from serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The driver of the truck was not injured in the collision.

We are supporting the driver’s family at this distressing time, and our thoughts are with them.

The truck was reported to be travelling along the A46 and the car was on the Caistor Road when the collision occurred on the A46. We are appealing for any witnesses that have not already spoken to the police to get in touch.

We are also asking for anyone who may have dash cam footage of either vehicle, prior to the crash to call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 79 of 22 August 2023.
