The practice was originally founded in the 1920’s by Dr Archie Harris, the surgery was then to be found at 20a Dudley Street and we also had a branch surgery at Scartho. Through the decades the practice has grown from a single handed GP practice to the 4 partner practice it is today, and until 2004 had always operated from an address on Dudley Street. We were extremely fortunate to be one of the first practices locally to be involved in the development of a purpose built health centre and in 2004 we moved into Church View. We are very proud of our whole practice team, and are confident you will find them to be professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable. As an Investor in People organisation we do take the training and development of the whole team very seriously and all team members benefit for annual training and skill updates. We will achieve the delivery of a truly equitable health care service by:

• Putting our patients at the heart of all practice developments and services
• Consult our patients on the needs and demands of the practice and invite patient discussion and feedback.
• Treat everyone as an individual.
• All decisions in respect of patient management and provision of services will be based upon clinical need.
• Ensure that all Clinical and Non-clinical members of the team commit to undertake Continuous Professional Development to ensure that their knowledge skills and ability remain up-to-date and meet the demands of their role.
• Robust record keeping and acceptance of technologies to assist with continuity of care and advanced medical record keeping.
• Undertake regular audit and appraisal of all clinical and non-clinical practices undertaken.
• Be leaders not followers in addressing the health inequalities of our local community

For some people, symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) can feel more noticeable or harder to manage during the winter.

But small things can help:

🔵 try some physical activity – anything that gets you moving
🔵 make the most of natural light – getting outside or sitting near windows
🔵 plan for tougher days – shifting stressful tasks or building in more rest

There’s also treatment available if you’re finding things really tough – such as light therapy, talking therapies or medication.
