“Stop the Bleed” kit donated to Open Door & Quayside

We’re proud to announce that a “Stop the Bleed” kit has been generously donated to Open Door and Quayside Medical Centre and has been installed in front of the building on Albion Street, Grimsby. This vital equipment is designed to help save lives in the event of a traumatic injury, such as a stabbing or serious accident.

Special thanks to Raymond Beeson, who recently visited the centre to present the kit to our paramedics, Nick and Andy, in memory of his grandson Tom Gaughan.

Tom’s family are determined to keep his memory alive by fundraising to place bleed kits across Grimsby, Cleethorpes and surrounding areas, giving members of the public the tools they need to help in an emergency before paramedics arrive. The kit will be registered with the ambulance service so they can send people to Open Door/Quayside in the case of a serious bleed within the vicinity of the surgery.

These kits contain essential items that can be used in the critical moments after a major injury, helping to control bleeding and potentially save a life and we’re pleased to be able to support this cause.

Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) isn’t caused by diet or lifestyle, it’s an autoimmune condition where the body stops producing insulin. That means people with T1D need insulin every single day to survive.

🩸Living with T1D means constant monitoring, carb counting, and balancing blood sugars - but it does NOT define who you are.

With the right tools, support, and determination, people with T1D can do anything - play sports, travel, chase dreams, and live full lives.
