This week saw the start of our new 6 week series on ‘Yoga & The Mind’. Over the next few weeks we will be looking out how yoga helps various states of the mind through breathwork, yoga poses and meditation.
This week we explored how yoga can help calm the mind by bringing an awareness to linking movement and breath together. We also explored poses and breathing practices that help to calm the nervous system.
THE POSE:
Try this simple flowing Bridge Pose to find that mind, body & breath connection. A great way to calm a busy mind.
THE QUOTE:
Spend some time this week noticing when you feel stressed or rushed and if you have brought yourself out of the present moment. Perhaps you are focused on something in the future or you are spending time back in past thoughts.
Gently bring yourself back to the present moment by following the breath and see if you can bring about a sense of calm once again.
