The cost of the eye exam is covered by the NHS for all under 16's. "Vanni Eyewear - made in Italy, for sure"

The journey started in 1929 with Giovanni Vitaloni, who found his purpose in suppling mechanical components to the new born Italian automotive industry, based in Turin.

The boost to the activity was then given by Alberto Vitaloni in the late 60’s and 70’s, when the company became leader in the manufacturing of rear-view mirrors. In the mid 80’s Alberto, drawing on that technical and manufacturing experience, created a new company called Nico-design to operate in the eyewear sector.

Thus, the first DERAPAGE eyeglass collection was born, seemingly from a simple change in perspective, followed by the VANNI brand, in honour of the first Giovanni Vitaloni, called 'Vanni' to his friends.

And still today, the Vanni eyewear collection is designed and made in Italy - why not come in to Scartho eyecare and view this wonderful collection.

Perhaps you struggle to enjoy conversations when there’s too much background noise, you often need people to repeat themselves or speech can sound muffled or lack definition – these are all signs that you might be experiencing hearing loss.

As hearing loss is often gradual, it can be hard to tell it’s happening. In fact, it’s often a loved one that notices your hearing loss long before you do. On average, it can take around seven years for someone to recognise and accept their hearing loss and choose to wear hearing aids.

Here are some of the signs of hearing loss that indicate it’s a good idea to get a hearing test:

- Missing sounds like the doorbell, oven timer or phone calls

- Persistent ear ringing

- Feeling isolated from conversations due to hearing difficulties

- Finding it difficult to communicate in groups or with background noise

- Turning up the TV volume louder or needing subtitles

- Needing to ask people to repeat themselves.
