Meet Lily, a member of the HMT team since 2018.

Starting as part of the admin team for the radiology department, Lily is in the process of completing her nursing degree and will return to St Hugh’s as a RGN when qualified!

👋Meet Dr Amir Alvi, Rheumatology Consultant at HMT St Hugh’s Hospital.

Dr Alvi has been working as a Rheumatology Consultant since 2011 and has extensive specialities such as Rheumatic disorders including Rheumatoid arthritis, connective tissue disorders including Lupis, as well as soft tissue Rheumatology including Fibromyalgia.

Dr Alvi also enjoys sharing his expertise as Clinical Lead for Rheumatology at the Hull York Medical School.

As we do not provide these services at St Hugh’s Hospital, we’ve chosen to highlight another important patient safety issue: tackling health inequalities by reaffirming our commitment to safer, fairer, and more reliable healthcare here at St Hugh’s Hospital.

Too often, operations have been cancelled at the last minute because patients weren’t medically ready. That’s why we’re focusing on health optimisation; supporting patients with fitness, nutrition, and managing long-term conditions before surgery.
