🫐 My 11am spring snack — and why I’ve put the yogurt away until summer.

Blueberries, fresh figs (in season right now 🌿) and a half teaspoon of good honey.

Simple. Seasonal. Intentional.

🌸 Why no yogurt in spring?

In Ayurveda, we don’t eat the same way all year round. As we come out of winter, your body is naturally in a Kapha-dominant state — heavier, damper, slower. You might notice it as sluggishness, congestion or sinus issues. Sound familiar?

Yogurt is cold, heavy and damp — it increases Kapha and adds to that congestion. In spring we eat lighter, drier and warmer to help the body shed winter and open up.

This is your body’s natural spring clean — and your food should support it.

🍯 A word on the honey...

You’ll notice I’m using Minos Greek honey here — a beautiful raw thyme & pine honey from Greece that I love. But the principle works with any good quality raw honey from your local farm shop too.

If you live in the countryside, raw local honey is liquid gold right now. It contains trace amounts of local pollen and over time gently trains your immune system to stop overreacting to it — a slow, natural approach to reducing hay fever. Start now, before the season peaks. 🌼

🫐 Blueberries — packed with antioxidants, support brain health & reduce inflammation
🌿 Figs — prebiotic, fibre-rich & gently cleansing for the gut
🍯 Raw honey — antimicrobial, soothing & your springtime hay fever ally

Eat with the seasons. Eat with your dosha. This is the Science of Life. 🙏

🍄 Dinner for two. 20 minutes. After a full day at work.

No stress. No compromise. Just good food that actually does something for your body.

Mushroom, broccoli, ginger, garlic, oriental leaves and baby corn — tossed in a satay sauce and served in corn tacos for that satisfying crunch. 🌮

No rice. No noodles. Just a clever little swap that changes everything.

🌮 Why corn tacos instead of rice or noodles?

In Ayurveda, evenings are governed by Kapha energy — the body is slowing down, digestion is quieter. Heavy carbs like rice or noodles at night sit in the gut, create heaviness and can disrupt sleep.

Corn tacos are naturally gluten-free, lower GI and lighter on the digestive system. They also add that crunch you’d normally miss — so you’re not sacrificing anything, you’re upgrading.

Eat lighter in the evening. Sleep better. Wake up feeling clear.

🍄 Mushrooms — adaptogenic, immune-boosting & one of the most powerful plant foods you can eat
🫚 Ginger & garlic — nature’s anti-inflammatories, warming & deeply cleansing after a long day
🥦 Broccoli & oriental leaves — support the liver, gut & the body’s natural detox pathways
🌽 Baby corn — light, fibre-rich & kind to your evening digestion
🥜 Satay sauce — healthy fats from peanut, grounding & deeply satisfying without being heavy
🌮 Corn tacos — the crunch, the swap, the upgrade

This is what eating with intention looks like on a weeknight. 🙏

Nature is waking up… and so are you! After the stillness of winter, the body naturally starts to awaken. In Ayurveda this is the transition out of Kapha season — a time when we gently shake off heaviness, stagnation and stored energy from the colder months.

For me that means:
Movement in the gym
Creating new content and teachings
Getting back into rhythm with my body
Preparing new videos to share with you all

Winter invites us to rest, but spring invites us to rise again.

In Ayurveda we support this transition by:
• Moving the body daily
• Eating lighter, warming foods
• Using spices that ignite digestion
• Clearing mental and physical stagnation

Over the coming weeks I’ll be sharing more about how to move from winter into spring the Ayurvedic way — through food, lifestyle and simple rituals.

Let this be your reminder:
Nature is waking up… and so are you.

One spoonful of Ayurveda at a time.

In Ayurveda, food is medicine.
How we cook, eat, and digest matters just as much as what we eat.

This Christmas, remember:
👉 A calm gut = a healthy Agni (digestive fire)

Choose warm, nourishing foods.
Eat with presence.
Let digestion support your energy, mood, and joy this season.

Ayurveda gives us a profound overview of how disease begins.
It’s not just about symptoms - it’s about why imbalance happens in the first place.

What causes dis-ease in the Ayurvedic view?
✴️ Poor diet
✴️ Misaligned lifestyle or career
✴️ Emotional and relational incompatibility
✴️ Environments that stress the system
✴️ Bacteria, viruses, parasites, and more

But the core of it?
👉 When your food, your rhythm, your relationships—and your nervous system, aren’t in alignment, the body starts to whisper.
And if we don’t listen? It starts to shout.

This is what I work with in my cooking practice - realignment, from the root.

Join me on TikTok over the coming months, on how food is medicine. With live sessions from my kitchen and talks on how to balance Vata, Pitta & Kapha 🙏
