I’m always asked for trial classes and the honest answer is… NO. I also didn’t engage in Black Friday and I won’t be doing a January Sale.
Why?
Because, I will remember your name, I will personally deal with you, I will listen to your pain points and I will support you when things get rough. I will also give you a really good service.
No judgment on corporations, because I benefit from the relationships of bigger companies with more money than me, but don’t treat me like i’m a big company.
I also want to make sure the teachers I work with are respected and not undervalued, which won’t happen if I slash my prices all the time. I also want to make sure that the ancient tradition of Yoga is respected…
I and lots of businesses do more than enough for the community without having to slash prices to keep up with chains. Plus, people who come in through a discount usually leave abruptly or never actually pay full price.
Like any relationship, it’s not a good tone to set by sacrificing yourself and not saying what you believe you’re worth.
Don’t just support local, because we don’t need your charity. Respect local, understand quality over quantity and contribute to your community success.
