When you live with psoriasis, it's not always just about managing your skin.
Sometimes one condition can lead to another, creating a ripple effect that impacts your overall health and wellbeing.

The domino effect might include:

- Joint pain that develops years after skin symptoms appear
- Feeling constantly tired, even after a full night's sleep
- Changes to your mental health and emotional wellbeing
- Other health challenges that emerge over time

Understanding these connections helps you stay ahead. It means you can spot warning signs early, have more informed conversations with your healthcare team, and get the support you need for your whole health - not just your skin.
Knowledge is power. The more we understand about how psoriatic disease affects our bodies, the better we can advocate for comprehensive care that treats the whole person.
This World Psoriasis Day, let's raise awareness about the full impact of living with psoriatic disease and ensure everyone gets the holistic support they deserve.

The Olive Tree House Memory Lane has undergone a transformation, a big part of these improvements was to make the spaces more useable to be enjoyed by more residents.

Home Manager Vlad has spent time planning the refurbishment schemes for the Concorde Pub and Revolver Records, it was important to retain the retro look whilst incorporating the benefits of modern technology.

Revolver Records still has the record player, but also has a modern sound system and large screen, smaller furniture allows space for the specialist chairs many residents use. The Concorde Pub is now the Concorde Pub Cafe, the redecoration and new larger tables mean the room can be used for activities whilst residents can enjoy a speciality coffee or tipple!

Thank you to Ernesto and Alan who have worked so hard to make the vision a reality. These areas are always open for families to enjoy with their loved one.

Love this! What a fabulous way to help raise awareness. 🥰

Did you know?
📊 Around 2,000-3,000 children are adopted each year in the UK
📊 Over 2,000 children are currently waiting for their forever families
📊 The average age of children waiting to be adopted is 3-4 years old
📊 Many children waiting are part of sibling groups who hope to stay together

A bit of history:
Adoption in the UK has come a long way! The first Adoption Act was passed in 1926, giving adopted children legal security for the first time. Since then, adoption has evolved tremendously - from the 1970s when same-race placement policies dominated, to today's inclusive approach where single people, LGBTQ+ couples, and people from all backgrounds can adopt. The focus has shifted to finding the right family for each child's unique needs.

Adoption isn't just one story - it's many. Whether you're single, married, LGBTQ+, a homeowner or renter, with or without children already - there are so many ways to become an adoptive parent. You don't have to be perfect, just committed to giving a child the love and stability they need.

One family can change a child's entire world!

October is Menopause Awareness Month but the day is 18th

This month, we come together as a community to raise awareness about something that touches so many lives, yet is often left unspoken: menopause.

It’s a journey that many women will experience in their own way—sometimes with challenges, sometimes with unexpected strength, and often with the need for understanding and support.

đź’ś By talking about it openly, we break down stigma.
đź’ś By listening, we show compassion.
đź’ś By sharing knowledge, we empower each other.

Let’s create a safe space where no one feels alone. Whether you’re experiencing menopause yourself, supporting a loved one, or simply wanting to learn more, your voice matters.

👉 Join the conversation. Share resources. Offer a kind word. Together, we can build a community of care and awareness.

Today, we celebrate World Food Day — a reminder that every meal connects us to one another, to our planet, and to the future we share.
This year’s theme, “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future,” invites us all to be part of the solution.

While global efforts are underway to fight hunger, climate change, and food waste, real change begins right here — in our homes and neighbourhoods.

Here’s how we can make a difference together:

🌾 Support local growers, farmers’ markets, community gardens
🥦 Share recipes and meals that use “ugly” or surplus produce
♻️ Commit to reducing our household food waste
🔄 Encourage conversations about food equity, sustainable agriculture, and nutrition
👫 Collaborate — whether it’s a neighbourhood gathering, local school, or a community pantry

Small everyday actions can lead to healthier people, stronger communities, and a more sustainable world.

Arthritis affects more than 350 million people worldwide—that's 1 in 10 people, including children and young adults.

Arthritis can impact:

- Daily activities like opening jars, climbing stairs, or holding a pen
- Sleep quality and energy levels
- Mental health and emotional wellbeing
- Work, hobbies, and social activities

How you can support someone with arthritis:

💙 Be patient and understanding—invisible pain is still real pain
đź’™ Offer help with physical tasks without making them feel helpless
đź’™ Listen without judgment when they need to talk
đź’™ Remember that energy levels fluctuate day to day
đź’™ Educate yourself about their condition

Let's spread awareness, show compassion, and build a more understanding community for everyone living with chronic pain.
