- Our child memberships (6-15 years) will only give children access to the pool. All other facilities at poolside and at the Health Club are for persons aged 16 and over. Please note that child members will only be allowed to use the pool after 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and after 4 p.m. on weekends. This membership cannot be used outside these times.
- It is £30.00 for a Child membership and £65.00 for an Adult membership.
- Duration of the membership is 6 weeks. The deal is running from the 21st of July until the 3rd of August.
- Adult members will be entitled to 20% off Natural Light massages and treatments. (massages not eligible for child memberships) & 25% discount on food and beverage in the hotel bar, restaurant and lounge (proof of membership needed)
- 6 week memberships are prepaid only.
- If adult members decide to join the Health Club after the summer taster, then you will not need to pay any joining fees or FOB fees.
- Children cannot use the pool by themselves and an adult must sign up with them and accompany them at all times

Over 8 weeks, researchers tracked hypertrophy, strength, and endurance across groups performing anywhere from ~12 to ~24 sets per muscle group per week.

What stood out wasn’t just that muscle growth plateaued—but that strength gains actually declined as volume increased. The group that kept their training volume steady not only built just as much muscle, but also achieved the greatest increase in one-rep max. This suggests that for trained individuals, piling on more volume can lead to diminishing returns—or worse, interfere with performance by tipping the balance toward fatigue over adaptation.

For experienced lifters, this research reinforces the power of strategic restraint. Once you’re training near failure with solid effort, more isn’t always better—it’s just more. Recovery, intensity, and smart programming often beat sheer volume.

Beyond triggering key anabolic pathways like mTOR and satellite cell activation, the study noted that stretching at long muscle lengths could lead to sarcomere addition, a structural adaptation typically associated with loaded resistance training. These findings align with emerging research on blood flow restriction, emphasizing that mechanical tension—not movement—is the real growth signal. Over 8 weeks, participants followed identical training routines—but one group rested 1 minute between sets, while the other rested 3 minutes. The goal: find out how recovery time impacts hypertrophy and performance.

What makes this study stand out is how clearly it shows that rest isn’t wasted time—it’s growth time. Longer rests allowed lifters to maintain higher intensity and volume across all sets, which led to stronger anabolic signals like mechanical tension and fiber recruitment. It also challenges a long-held bodybuilding belief that short rests are “better for hypertrophy”—this data says otherwise, especially for large muscle groups and advanced lifters.

For lifters hitting plateaus, this could be a game-changer. Training hard is essential—but so is recovering hard between sets. Sometimes the smartest gains come from standing still.
