Our Story
The family who own and run Birtley House are dedicated to providing the highest levels of care and quality of life for all our Residents. They endeavour to ensure that our Residents feel they have merely ‘moved home’ and not moved ‘into a home’.
Birtley House has been awarded 'PLATINUM’ status as part of the prestigious Gold Standards Framework (GSF), which reflects the dedication of staff across all departments to deliver the best and most compassionate care to our Residents.
Birtley House offers full Nursing Care, Respite Care, Rehabilitation, end-of-life care and Day Club services. In addition, we have supported living flats on site (Birtley Mews) where we can provide care via our Birtley Care at Home service, if required.
Caring for the whole person is a vital part of the ethos of life at Birtley House: we have active links with the local community, an imaginative activities programme and a supportive Pastoral team comprising a Chaplain, Counsellor, Companions, Wellbeing Mentors and Volunteers.
