Many of you know how much I enjoy teaching digital skills - especially through my Canva workshops and the 1:1 sessions I run to help adults and kids feel more confident and creative.

šŸŽÆThis year, I’ve added something new to my toolkit: I trained as a certified Goal Mapping coach and facilitator with and , thanks to the introductions from and Katrina Sargent.

So what is Goal Mapping?

It’s a simple yet powerful system that helps you get clear on what you want to achieve and how to actually make it happen. It’s part vision board, part action plan but with real structure and heart behind it. Whether you’re working on a personal goal, a career shift, or just want more direction, Goal Mapping gives you something tangible to walk away with - a map that connects your dreams to achievable steps.

I now run Goal Mapping sessions for adults, children, and teenagers. The kids’ and teens’ workshops are especially close to my heart, helping young people understand their strengths, build confidence, and visualise a positive future feels more important than ever.

Tomorrow, I’m meeting a new client on Zoom to guide them through creating their first-ever goal map. And on Sunday, I’ll be , running a 45 minute in-person workshop at 1:15 PM called *Goal Mapping to Bolster Resilienceā€. If you’re curious, it’s a great way to explore your goals in a relaxed and supportive setting. (Stay All Day. Plan Your Day 10am to 6pm)

There are still a few spaces left, so if you’d like to come along, I’ll share the booking in my bio

ā€œBut we’ve no time to do this Jane!ā€ the teachers say. ā€œOur curriculum is too overloaded and we are under so much pressure!ā€

10 minutes here and there for children to self regulate, restore and bond more. Surely it’s worth it?

You’ll be surprised how much the children will settle, focus and get stuff done when they have some FUN! The classroom will be calmer and productive, as a result.

Children of all ages. For all.

Something soothing and restorative every day, even better, every lesson.

Not just a token 20 minutes late on a Friday afternoon where half of them are sitting out because they’ve ā€œmisbehavedā€!

The children enjoy the mini wellbeing sessions that I facilitate in the classroom when I’m allowed some creative license! Throughout the day, we play card games, draw and doodle, share puzzles which I pick up in charity shops, and we have time to just chat! I call them Random Dialogues.

And they get all their intense class work work done and thank me at the end of the day.

🌿Hi, I’m Jane and and this is why I started Resilient Kids.

It all came from frustration.

I kept seeing kids being pushed, labelled, and squeezed into boxes they just didn’t fit into. So many were losing confidence, shutting down, or feeling like they weren’t ā€œenoughā€ just because they didn’t fit a narrow version of success.

I wanted to create a space where children could just be.
Be curious. Be quiet. Be creative. Be themselves.

That’s how Resilient Kids was born.

I’ve been a teacher since 1997, working across a range of schools - state, private, and international and I’ve seen first-hand how easily children’s individuality can be overlooked. I'm also a mum to two young adults, now 20 and 18, so this comes from both professional and lived experience. I understand how important it is to nurture a child’s confidence and emotional wellbeing, especially when they don’t always fit the mould.

Everything I do is shaped around your child’s unique needs. It’s about helping them feel capable, confident, and proud of who they are not who they’re told to be.

At the heart of it all are three simple values:

‣ VISION – creating possibilities and supporting their unique potential
‣ VITALITY – helping them feel good in themselves, inside and out
‣ VOICE – making sure they feel seen, heard, and valued

If any of this resonates, I’d love to hear from you.

Where have you enjoyed a moment of peace today?

During this morning’s cycle to a teaching ā€œmissionā€, I enjoyed my yogurt brekkie by this yew tree and then found some off the beaten tracks to explore.

Took a stroll into Guildford after hosting my monthly ā€œGuildford Buzz" networking group . I discovered the was open, which lead to a whole series of adventures and encounters, including an impromptu tour called ā€œBrief Livesā€ with a wonderful town guide.

The final photo is in the Castle grounds, the flowers are absolutely stunning there at mo (didn’t take a photo though šŸ™ˆ).

I love taking children that I work with into Guildford to bring learning alive. They particularly enjoy seeing Alice Through the Looking Glass and even better the milkshake after!

Ten years ago today, we returned from our two-year family adventure in Tanzania, an unforgettable, life-enhancing experience.

It was Paul, Luke, Ellie (aged 6 and 8 at the time), and me. I was teaching at an international school in Arusha and kept a blog of our journey called No Regrets.

We’re still so grateful for everything we learned, shared, and discovered and for the incredible international friendships we made along the way.

Paul took time away from the ITV news desk and kept busy with a range of journalism projects, including undercover work on elephant poaching. Before we left, he also trained as a first aid instructor and went on to deliver training to most of the school staff and well beyond.

He returned a little earlier for work, so this is one of the photos he captured at the airport!

šŸŖ²šŸžšŸ›BUGLIFE - national charity focusing on protection of invertebrates, are doing a big Lottery funding bid for habitat restoration of grassland areas supporting rare species around Surrey and want to include The Mount and Rosamund Community Gardens/Pewley Meadows as two of the focus sites which is really exciting.

The survey took me 2 minutes to complete:

We are seeking funding for an exciting new project in Surrey that will restore up to 30 hectares of chalk grassland habitat within B-Lines on the Surrey Hills. Sadly, a lot of our flower-rich grassland, including chalk grassland have been lost over the past century due to urbanisation, intensive agr...
