Our Senior Head of Education and Learning, alongside our Business and Finance Manager, were invited to attend a special lunch at the Mubarak Mosque in Farnham.

Councillor Shah extended the invitation to representatives from Elysian to attend the lunch and to meet the National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the UK. They also had the honour of witnessing His Holiness enter the mosque to lead the afternoon prayer.

This visit followed Councillor Shah’s earlier visit to our Liss site, where he kindly offered his support after the theft of our animals. Both occasions reflect a valued and ongoing relationship, and this lunch was a meaningful opportunity to further strengthen community links.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Councillor Shah and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for their wonderful hospitality and for making us feel so welcome.

Reptile Connections 🦎

This week at Reptile Connections, we made little Santa hats for our animals and celebrated our last session with a Christmas party. 🎄 We will be back in the new year! 🐸🐉🐢🐍✨

Reptile Connections is a weekly session for children who flourish in a nurturing environment, ideal for those who are home-educated or on a part-time timetable.

Reptile Connections at Elysian is a unique, hands-on learning experience where young people explore the natural world through interaction with reptiles and small animals.

Sessions help develop confidence, responsibility, communication and curiosity in a calm and nurturing environment.

👧 Ages: 6–16 years.

As the term comes to the end we reflected on the past year and our learning. The young people have worked extremely hard and achieved so much. This week at Elysian Shamley Green….💜

Our young people have had the opportunity to visit Merrist Wood College to look at the environment and next steps 🐴🚌

In maths our young people have been playing a Christmas escape room and learning our times tables🧮🎄

In art we’ve been getting creative making Christmas cards 🎅

In English we’ve been using descriptive language 📚

In human and social we’ve discussed what would make the perfect eco stable 🐎♻️

We have had a visit from Peter Jopling who gave our young people a VFX talk 💻

This week at Reptile Connections, we had fun hanging out with and caring for our reptiles, including our albino corn snake, Snow. 🐍 We also painted our clay figures, which we made last week. 🎨 All of our activities earn us AQA awards. 🏅
