Guisborough and East Cleveland Sea Cadets This is the official Guisborough and East Cleveland Sea Cadets Page. Cadets have the opportunity to take part in a variety of water and land activites.

Junior Cadets 10—12
When you join you’ll take part in lots of great events and exciting activities like sailing, canoeing and abseiling. We guarantee you’ll have lots of fun and make friends. You’ll also get to learn about really useful things like first aid and communications! Sea Cadets 12—18
From rock climbing to kayaking, there are so many challenging and exciting opportunities waiting for you. Sea Cadets meet once or twice a week and during the summer when all the sailing and boating activity gets started, your unit will be out on the water most weekends too. Take part in all kinds of competitions from music, power boating and sailing, to football and Drill, plus learn nautical skills as you complete your training. Not only will it be fun, but your new skills will definitely give you a head start in life and boost your confidence – weekends will never be the same again!

Hi everyone.

So the unit damage is more significant than we first realized. Therefore we will not be training tonight.

The team are trying to source a location to temporarily accommodate us until repairs are complete.

We hope to be able to train Thursday and will update you as soon as possible.

Important Weather Update.

Due to the poor weather conditions we have experienced building failures within the unit affecting: water, heating and electricity.

The unit will not be open tonight. :(

We will update you for next week once we have confirmation from professional contractors that the unit can be made safe to facilitate training.

We understand this is disappointing news for us all and we will keep you updated as best we can when we are able to share more.

For now, stay safe, stay warm and we will see you soon!

Parade night notice

Hello all, Happy new year !!

We would love to be welcoming you all back to the unit tomorrow evening but due to the current weather situation, we believe it would be unsafe to travel to the unit. Therefore tomorrow night will NOT be on.

We will be keeping an eye on the weather and will update you all before Thursday regarding parading then.

Due to a schedule conflict, we will not be attending the Skelton mini golf this evening. The booking is confirmed for tomorrow 12/12/25 @ 18:30.
There will also be no hot food provided this year, so please have your tea before attending.

Our CyberFirst Defenders Programme is open for bookings! 🎉


🙌On our CyberFirst Defenders course, you’ll learn about:
• Identifying the source and impact of common cyber security threats
• Defining and applying first-line cyber defences
• Constructing, configuring and securing a home network
• Taking steps to manage personal digital footprints🙌

This course is open nationally and is aimed at cadets aged 14-17, who have attended the CyberFirst Adventurers Programme. This is a recommendation and not mandatory.
