The New Year can stir up all kinds of complicated feelings, especially if you’re struggling at the moment. Add in the pressure to celebrate and it can all just feel like too much.

If you find this a hard time of year, you're not on your own – we’ll be here all night long 💚

Please order your repeat prescriptions in time for the Christmas and New Year bank holidays. We will be closed over the bank holidays, and many community pharmacies are also closed. Therefore, patients should order their repeat prescriptions without delay.

This is best done using the NHS App. Information on how to download the App can be found at https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/
Once set up, your prescriptions can be sent to a community pharmacy for collection or delivery if available.

Dr Abid Irfan, chief officer primary care at Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire & Berkshire West ICB, said: "Help yourself stay well over the Christmas and New Year holidays by making sure you have enough of your medication to see you through.

“It's best to order your usual medications well in advance, especially if you're going away. And you can also help by checking with vulnerable family members, friends and neighbours that they have the medications they need.

“GP practices are closed over the Christmas and New Year bank holidays and many pharmacies have different opening times.

"If you do run out of your medication, NHS 111 online can offer advice on how to get an emergency supply. But it's always best to be prepared."Once

We're taking part in Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 11 December! By pulling on our Christmassy knits and donating, we’ll be supporting children in the UK and around the world to keep safe, healthy, and learning. We’ll be helping them fight for the future they deserve. The money we raise could go towards some amazing things like:

£2 could buy a packet of seeds for a family in Kenya to grow their own food, after drought has killed their crops.

£8 could buy a blanket to keep a child in Ukraine warm through winter.

£15 could pay for two weeks of super-powered peanut paste to help a child beat hunger.

£20 could buy enough supermarket vouchers for two children in the UK.

£40 could provide a family in Gaza with a Baby Kit to give them the items they need to provide basic care to their infant.

Your pharmacist can provide treatment or some prescription medicine, if needed, for seven common conditions - without you seeing a GP.

Think pharmacy first and get seen by your local community pharmacy team.

With hot weather forecast, keep out of the heat if you can. If you have to go outside, stay in the shade between 11am and 3pm, wear sunscreen, a hat and light clothes, and avoid exercise or activity that makes you hotter. More advice at: https://tinyurl.com/3d4536eu
