After a summer pause, our WeAreTechWomen leadership prgrammes are back! 🌟 I can’t tell you how much we have missed being in the room with these awesome women.

Today we were at MUFG both in person and online from Dubai, Amsterdam and South Africa. Today’s fantastic session, lead by Mairi was a masterclass on emotional and physical intelligence:

We covered

đź’ˇ Building self-awareness and self-regulation
đź’ˇ Understanding motivation and social skills
đź’ˇ Collaborating across cultures and teams

The energy in the room was amazing (it always is). Big thanks to our MUFG women in tech and front office guests who threw themselves into the discussions, teamwork and reflections.

Huge thanks to who guided us brilliantly with her insights on EI.

Ladies see you in October for our next session - I can’t wait!

🚨 NEW: The Lovelace Report 🚨

The UK tech industry is losing £2–3.5 billion every year by overlooking and losing women in tech roles.
This isn’t a pipeline problem — it’s a progression and retention crisis.

📊 The report, launched in July by WeAreTechWomen & Oliver Wyman, reveals why women are leaving, the economic impact, and the urgent actions companies must take to fix it.

📅 Join us on 28 August for a special LinkedIn Live, where we’ll unpack the findings and discuss real solutions to keep talented women in tech.

At the tail end of last year,
and WeAreTechWomen sat down to discuss a research project focused on women in tech, specifically, why their leadership journeys weren’t accelerating at the pace we know they should be. We also wanted to explore the economic impact this was having, not just on the tech sector, but on business bottom lines — and, more importantly, what needs to change to clear the path for more women to reach the top, alongside ideas to ensure the retention of the few senior women we have.

From Feb to April 500 women took the time to share their experiences — a massive thank you to every one of you. We also conducted in-depth interviews with 20 senior women in tech to hear directly about the broken systems, outdated career models, and what would actually keep them in the industry. Once again, we extend our sincere thanks to all the amazing women we interviewed for sharing your stories and thoughts.

So after a lot of hard work and six months of deep analysis, the aptly named “Lovelace Report” is now nearing completion. We are thrilled to say the report will be launched at the House of Commons on 15th July, with the support of . For us, and for many organisations like ours, this is the business case we’ve been waiting for. After more than a decade of banging the drum, we feel more confident than ever not just in what’s broken, but how we fix it.

As we present the findings to a room filled with tech leaders, MPs, campaigners, corporates and think tanks, I hope this will be the wake-up call the tech industry needs. As AI advances rapidly, we cannot afford to have only half the population in the room.

On the 15th, we will also reveal the shocking financial cost of inaction — the billions left on the table every single year if we continue to lose women from tech. We will also reveal our recommendations for companies, enabling them to take action to develop and retain their talent.

Our report will be published here and via our websites/LinkedIn on 15th July.
