Thinking of the 56 fans who lost their lives, 41 years ago today, in the Bradford City fire disaster.
May they Rest In Peace. ❤️

What a great turnout at Middleton & Wood's chapel in Hindley today for a true gentleman who was such a huge fan of Wigan Warriors.
Their cosy, comfortable chapel on Market Street is the perfect place to say goodbye to a loved one; free from the time constraints of a crematorium ceremony.
His family asked me to read my own poem, 'Forever A Warrior', for him which they felt was just perfect.
God Bless You Alan; forever a Warrior. 🏉

A local ceremony for me today as we celebrated the life of a gentleman who was born and raised in Aberdeenshire, and who lived in Wigan for the last 42 years.

And whilst it's Challenge Cup Semi-Final weekend, I thought I'd visit the grave of Lance Todd which is in the grounds of the crematorium.
Good luck to The Mighty Saints on Saturday.

Amen to this my friends.

I had a trip to the ultra-modern Shay Grange Crematorium, just outside Bradford, today and what a glorious sunny day it was.
I found my favourite crematorium sign and the moon put in an appearance too.
Thanks to Megan and her team at Co-op Funeralcare, Shipley for their assistance today.

The beautiful Rawdon Crematorium (just outside Leeds) was my destination today to lead a lovely ceremony for a gentleman who, amongst many other things, had traced his family tree back to the 15th Century....WOW!
As a proud Yorkshireman, he loved his county cricket too.
A photographic tribute and the beautiful poem 'Evening Solace', by Charlotte Bronte, made for a true celebration of his life.
May God Bless You Michael and thank you to Otley Co-op Funeralcare for making the arrangements.

I visited the beautiful East Lancashire Crematorium at Radcliffe earlier this week to lead a ceremony for an amazing 91 years old Manchester Lass, born and bred in Middleton.
And what a lovely touch to name me on the ceremony announcement.
Thanks to Andy and his superb team at Bromleys Independent Funeral Service Bolton.
May you Rest In Peace Joan. ❤️

I led a 'short and sweet' ceremony at Overdale yesterday for a gentleman who truly appreciated the simple pleasures in life.
A car boot sale was his and his Wife's idea of a great day out whether it Burscough or Blackpool; it could be anywhere!
His family loved 'The Car Boot' poem that I found online for him.
Many thanks to Leanne Jones and her team at Hardman & McManus Funeralcare for making the arrangements.
May God Bless You, Gerald. ❤️

I've had the privilege of leading ceremonies at two of the most beautiful crematoria this week, both in the white rose county.
Oakworth Crematorium is a lovely building in the most wonderful location and Lawnswood Crematorium, just outside Leeds, is such a beautiful chapel.
Such a lovely ride to both places too in this glorious spring weather. 🌞

No ceremonies for me on this first working day of 2026 but I've been on both sides of the Pennines between Christmas and the New Year.
Fortunately, the weather was kind to me for my Yorkshire trip!
Best Wishes to you all. 🥂

This is perfectly put I think by my good friend Ryan Hough.
We've both been involved in funerals for a good few years now and fully appreciate just how difficult the Christmas period can be for those mourning the loss of a loved one, and certainly those making arrangements to say goodbye to a loved one at this time of year.
Love and hugs to you all. ❤️
