Today was all about the colour red at Greenacres today as we honoured the life of a devoted Liverpool fan.
150+ of his family and friends attended his ceremony which included a beautiful photo tribute and several tributes from his Grandchildren.
Whilst there, I took some time out to lay some red roses by my Mum's woodland memorial; one each from me, Lynn, Jamie, Lucy and Ewan.
Mum loved red roses, mainly because red matched her lounge decor! She's always in our thoughts. 🌹 🌹🌹🌹🌹

It was a real honour for me to lead the Celebration Of Life ceremony for Jackie Brennan today and it was really lovely to see the chapel full for this rugby league legend.
There were plenty of smiles as I recounted some of the happy, funny memories that Jackie has left with his adoring family.
Jackie played 329 times for Salford RLFC between 1959 and 1970, scoring 70 tries and making many friends along the way.
He was voted in the all-time Willows XIII back in 2001, underlining what a true legend of the game he is.
Thank you to Jackie's family for allowing me to share this on my page and also to Sue Gibbons Funeral Service for looking after Jackie and his family.

Well we've had a great holiday in South Wales, our home from home, over the last week.
But you know what? Home really is where the cat is.
Thanks to Jamie for looking after Milo....or is it thanks to Milo for looking after Jamie??? 😻

A great trip to the beautiful Caldey Island today taking in the monastery, the lighthouse and St. David's Abbey.
We must've visit Caldey 20+ times over the years and it's always such a lovely trip.
Nothing much changes on the island and you really can hear the silence if you listen carefully enough.

We were in the unique Sunrise Chapel at St. Helens Crematorium yesterday; it's a lovely, circular chapel designed for smaller ceremonies for up to 30 people.
We were there to celebrate the life of a man who spent 20 years of his life driving holidaymakers all over the UK and Europe.
The 'Grand Tourer' was his vehicle of choice and what a mighty fine coach it is too.
The Sunrise Chapel made for a cosy, intimate ceremony that was really appreciated by family and friends.

What a lovely canalside walk to Wigan Crematorium this morning to lead a ceremony for a lifelong fisherman who also enjoyed hunting; a walk up the canal seemed rather appropriate today.
Some well-chosen music and a beautiful poem written just for him by his Granddaughter helped to create a truly memorable ceremony for his family and friends.

It was Oakworth for me (twice) this week and I read this wonderful poem for a very proud Yorkshireman at one of my ceremonies.
So, just for fun, I found some 'shining purple heather', a 'land of hills and valleys' and, just to top it off, 'a gleaming Yorkshire sky'.
You can see why I love Yorkshire so much and I've taken delivery today of my new, white rose of Yorkshire tie.
Thank you to The Knowle Co-op Funeralcare for asking me to look after these two ceremonies.

Well for the first time EVER, I wore my Wigan Warriors tie together with my Saints lapel badge for a true gentleman with a foot in both camps, so to speak.
He'd spent many a time at Central Park over the years watching Wigan, before sharing his allegiance with Saints, where his Son has coached for many years. 🏉
What an amazing attendance there was for him today and it really did feel like a true celebration of a life very well-lived.
Tributes from his Granddaughter and Son in law made the day even more special.
Thank you so much to Sue Gibbons Funeral Service for making such lovely arrangements for the family. 🏉

I was a little closer to home, at Wigan Crematorium, on Friday as we said goodbye to a lovely lady with the help of Sue Gibbons Funeral Service and her team.
The poem 'Afterglow' was a well-chosen addition to her ceremony, that we ended with Gerry Rafferty's classic, 'Baker Street', her most favourite song and ringtone.
Donations were gratefully accepted on the day to the Wigan & Leigh Hospice, to support their wonderful work.
