This is perfectly put I think by my good friend Ryan Hough.
We've both been involved in funerals for a good few years now and fully appreciate just how difficult the Christmas period can be for those mourning the loss of a loved one, and certainly those making arrangements to say goodbye to a loved one at this time of year.
Love and hugs to you all. ❤️

Here's a poem that I'd like to dedicate to anybody who's missing a loved one this Christmas, in particular the families that it's been my privilege to help during 2025.
I think this poem says rather nicely that our loved ones are always in our thoughts, and especially at this time of the year.
Hugs to you all my friends. ❤️

I led a very well attended ceremony in St. Helens on Friday for a 'vivacious lady' whose life was a life well-lived, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
'Her Journey's Just Begun' is such a lovely poem and was read beautifully by Susan Cayzer-gibbons and the choice of music was simply perfect.
As always, the photographic tribute (played alongside 'Over The Rainbow') was such a beautiful part of the ceremony.
Rest In Peace Kath. ❤️

I had the genuine privilege of leading a ceremony at Wigan Crematorium for a 96 year old lady, who spent most of her working life as a Wood Machinist at the iconic Bulldog Tools.
She was over the moon when this 20 feet tall gold giant appeared on the site a few years ago and he returned a couple of weeks ago; it's almost as if he's come back to say 'goodnight and god bless' to her.
Helen's family chose a truly beautiful poem for her entitled 'Legacy Of Love'.
Rest In Peace Helen. ❤️

I read this lovely poem for the first time on the page of Gillian Hall, a very good friend to me and Lynn.
It's often said that 'when robins appear, loved ones are near' and I think this is such a poignant Christmas poem.
Our loved ones are never too far from our thoughts at this time of year.
Thank you so much Gillian. ❤️

Tonight I had the honour of reading a beautiful poem at the Sankey & Monks Christmas Memorial Service, held at Leigh Parish Church.
'Think Fondly Of Me' has been written by a good friend of mine, Simon Wilkinson, and was simply perfect for tonight's ceremony.
Thank you to Lesley Waterworth and the team at Sankey & Monks for arranging what turned out to be a very well attended ceremony. ❤️

Good Luck to Ryan and his family in this amazing new venture. I'm sure he'll do brilliantly.

Happy Lancashire Day my friends; for Thursday 27 November 2025.
Here are a few pics from my very bracing Lancashire walk today.
(Yes, I know we're in Greater Manchester but us older folk still think of our lovely county as Lancashire!)
I often share stories of loved ones who enjoy walking in their local area, often with their dog, and sometimes with their cat, goat or even their ferret! (All true stories!)
So today I had 4km of clean, fresh Lancashire air on a cold, bright day, before heading off to Dukinfield Crematorium with Lynn Fulton Davies.
There were a couple of reminders of our own mortality along the way too.
Enjoy your Lancashire Day out there.

I've put something a little different on here today my friends.
This is Tarn Lane, just outside Keighley, which is known locally as 'The Yorkshire Bumps'; if you watch the video then you'll see why! I believe you can actually take off if you go fast enough! Spoiler alert....I haven't put that to the test!
I spoke about this road at Oakworth Crematorium last week, as part of a very interesting life story that I put together with the help of the gentleman's family.
Rest In Peace Stephen.
Enjoy the film!
