🧁🧁 Baking has come to Hailsham House!🧁🧁

This past Monday, residents came together for a lovely Easter baking session, making delicious cupcakes from scratch. Together they mixed the ingredients, chatting away and laughing as they shared funny stories with one another.

Once the cupcakes had cooled and the piping began, everyone happily listened to some classic 60’s music while they concentrated on decorating their creations. A wonderful afternoon filled with smiles, memories, and tasty treats!

🎈❤️ Comic Relief has come to Hailsham House! ❤️🎈

This year, our Residents and Families are coming together for a fun‑filled Afternoon to test their knowledge in a Comic Relief Quiz, while enjoying some yummy cakes that will be on sale. 🍰🎉

Our residents will also be opening up their very own pub, The Last Chance Saloon, Which is also a firm favourite here at Hailsham House and always guaranteed to bring plenty of laughs and smiles! 🍻😊

Help sharna king raise money to support Comic Relief

🌼🌞 Yesterday some of our residents enjoyed a lovely trip to Petals Garden Centre in Burwash.

The sun was shining, the flowers were in full bloom, and everyone had a wonderful time exploring the beautiful displays. 🌷🌻

They even got an extra special treat when sitting on the decking, they could see the charming village of Stonegate in the distance. Such a peaceful and scenic view! 🌿💛

They also enjoyed a warm hot beverage in the beautiful little café, and some of our residents’ families joined in on the fun morning out, making the trip even more special. ☕💐❤️

🍀✨ St Patrick’s Day fun at Hailsham House!
What a lovely day filled with music, smiles, and a touch of Irish magic for our residents.

We enjoyed a fantastic live performance from The Funky Fiddler, and even our residents joined in, proudly singing two songs they’ve been practising for a while now. 🎶💚

Great atmosphere, great company – and plenty of green! 💚🌈🍀

🌸 Spring has officially arrived at our home!

Residents have been getting into the spring spirit this week, and yesterday they enjoyed a lovely spot of flower arranging.

From trimming stems to the perfect height to adding their own creative touches, they’ve truly brought colour and joy into our beautiful home.

🎉 A Huge Congratulations to Rui! 🎉

This past Sunday, our Home Manager Rui completed the Eastbourne Half Marathon in support of St Wilfrid’s Hospice! 🏃‍♂️

💙 Despite the challenging weather, Rui powered through and finished the run in around 2 hours what an amazing achievement!

Here’s what Rui had to say about his experience:
“Thank you for all your support, I had a lot of fun on Sunday completing the Eastbourne half marathon run, and it was a pleasure to be part of a well-organized event. Also, amazing that I was able to contribute to St. Wilfrid’s Hospice and the great cause.”

We’re incredibly proud of Rui and grateful for the positive difference he continues to make. 🙌

Meanwhile, our activity team is already busy planning more charity events and fundraisers! Later this month we have a big Comic Relief quiz, and some of the team are finalising plans for another sponsored walk. 🚶‍♀️❤️

Armchair travel to Wales in the morning, and then Welsh flag painting in the afternoon afternoon. Fantastic creativity from residents and staff!

Just In case you have missed the last post

Our Home Manager, Rui Santos, is lacing up his running shoes once again this year as he takes part in the Eastbourne Half Marathon to raise funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice. 🏃‍♂️💙

This charity holds a special place not only in Rui’s heart, but also in the hearts of many of our residents. With that in mind, Rui is giving it his all and has added the Eastbourne Half Marathon to his growing list of charity runs.

As he shared:
“It’s a great hospice helping our Nursing home on many occasions. I know some of the residents here at Hailsham House would love to take part, so I decided to do it for them. So, it’s not just me running on the 8th of March… it’s the residents as well.”

We’re incredibly proud of Rui for representing the spirit, strength, and community of Hailsham House. ❤️

Throwback to this Thursday!

Our residents enjoyed a lovely trip out to Tottingworth Farm Shop & Café.
While sipping on hot chocolates and cups of tea, they gazed out the windows in amazement as the farm bustled with activity. From farm hands tending to the animals in the fields to machinery moving hay bales, there was so much to see!

Inside the shop, residents were fascinated by the impressive display of sashes won from across the country for their prized heifers and sheep, proudly hanging above the till with pride.

It was such a fun outing and the residents are already asking to go back in the summer! 🌞🐑🚜

Connections that spark meaningful relationships between carer and resident. ❤️

It’s the little moments shared smiles, gentle conversations, and quiet companionship that build trust and brighten each day here at Hailsham House.

Our residents love having hand massages and manicures. It’s one of the special ways bonds are formed, with gentle care that grows into something wonderful, treasured by both resident and carer.

As nails are painted in soft colours, sometimes with a little added pattern, residents relax, open up, and conversations begin to flow naturally. It’s in these calm, joyful moments that true connection happens and bonds are created.
